Hello :)

So, i have been working on info about which mmo's are most balanced ones, pvp-wise ,so its fair enough to find out are there any, and which mmorpg players thing have the greatest possibility of becoming much more powerfull than average players, or most players in that mmo.

Whats top dog, most OP, most unbalanced, mmo for laughably strong gear or skill difference alike?

Parietes non sunt It can be a story, a tip, screenshot, situation, anything you recall about the subject :)

Yeah, i kinda know someone will drop the "Archeage" hammer :D Heck ,seen a dude fight off like about dozen players by himself, but thats easy, most ppl know that.Gimme something new :)

For what i remmember in RF Online as Accretian tank, when i was officer of faction, paid with ingame cash to upgrade my gear via cash shop by the faction leader himself, and in faction wars next days, and i kid you not, i just jumped around with about 20-40 players attacking me from range and all i saw instead od damage recieved was crapload of "Blocked" spam, could solo tank world bosses too, loads of fun.

Also in one game Forsaken World, for some time, bards were ridiculous, like they had the damage of sorcerer, heal of the priest, and speed of a ranger, could see dudes in open world trolling in pvp all-about, wasnt balanced but pretty fun to watch.

There any mmo in which u get to be very OP, but like, not with the cash factor but also solely by your own effort?

Haven and Hearth has/had(not sure since it's been a while) unlimited advancement in combat statistics(and open world PvPer).   Then again if you abused other players you'd end up leaving scents about that they could use to kill you off while you were logged off.

In Forsaken World, my guild (GUILD!  We had 21 people there, all were at or near the level cap) took almost 12 minutes to kill one guy.   During that time he got somewhere between 60 and 70 kills on us, many were one shot AoEs.

After 4 months of hard work to get better, and with a raise in the level cap, we went back into PvP and 18 of us at the new level cap of 90 could not scratch, much less kill, an opposing tank.  After some calculations by several of our guild members, we realized it would take spending about $700-$1200 real world dollars each (!) to get enough improvements just to get in the same tier as that tank.  Same tier, meaning 4-6 of us might be able to kill him.

Talk about pay to win!  Right after we did those calculations, most of us quit the game and started playing ESO.

Yeah but still its not isolated case, i myself think bards/vampires in Forsaken World were toughest shells since they could heal indefinitelly, had speed and high damage.

I remmember one particular vamp, which all he needed to do on start of arena was to go to the middle and cast one single aoe spell, everyone's hp would melt in few seconds, people would stay afk in respawn when they saw him on opposing team.

Still acquiring funds to become at least nearly as powerfull as them in that, peak time was possible without p2w, but in time cash shop items rose in gold price drastically and things changed.

I've heard that argument for other games too, and any game that endorses P2W is going to release new stuff for the P2Winners to buy, so by the time you catch up to where the P2W people WERE, they have P2W'd themselves two to three tiers higher!  I won't get involved in any more games that I have determined are truly P2W like Forsaken World.  Even if it was possible to catch up normally, things like jobs, family, blah blah will always lock me out of catching up without throwing money at the game.

It boggles my mind that people even play games in which people can quite literally P2W.  I just don't know why people bother.

They might be too cheap to play subscription or freemium games so they end up playing cash shop games.

I played this one game many years ago (over 10) It was called Eudemons Online, and it was the most crazily imbalanced game I've ever seen. One person ruled the server with an iron fist. It had a measuring system called "potency" which could be gained through gear and pets. If you had even one more potency than someone else you were untouchable to them. You could stand there for an hour and they couldn't take you down, but you could take them out in 4 attacks (one for each pet which were like shields, and one for them).

The cash shop was insanely expensive, there was a RL family that became famous for spending in the thousands per week, and you know what? They were never able to catch the number one guy, simply because he had a big head start and a solid guild backing him up. This guild would win everything, and the rewards for the weekly PVP tourney were huge. The family ended up quitting in disgrace with nothing but broken dreams and empty pockets to show for it.

I somehow became obsessed with winning this tournament on one of the lower tiers, so I kept my character low level by losing exp on purpose and chased that goal for at least a year with all the people I had met thinking I was crazy as fuck. I eventually won it though, a few times, and became semi-famous for doing so. I put a lot of work into it, never spent a dime, but in the end I got help from some good friends with better pets (you could reset the level on pets when evolving them, allowing them to be used for awhile in the lower tourneys). It also required that the usual OP guy who won every week didn't show up LOL But it all worked out eventually and I got to chill in town with a cool circle of light around me for the whole week each time, causing people to crowd around and ask "WTFF who's alt is this!!". Good times.

may be because some play solo, and there is no "winning"?

May be because some has money, and they want to pay for quick wins?

I don't pay in f2p games .. but hey, if there are no whales, there are no f2p games.

Archeage comes to mind, I wouldn't mind this so much if catching up wasn't impossible, but literally you can just keep stacking on the power in that game. A fresh 50 is about a 2k gearscore and people can get up to above 6k and beyond. It takes the average payer about a month of heavy play to go up 1k in gearscore after 3.5k and generally some $$ as well. someon in 6k gear can literally one shot a 4k and still easily destroy a 5k person if they know how to play.

Actually I always pay for premium membership when it is available.  FW does not have such an option.  I was just randomly looking for a new game to play after CoH closed down.  I always play F2P games to see if I like them, and start subscribing if I do.  Assuming they give you such an option.  My problem is that I made some really good friends, friends that I am still gaming with, and we tried to play the game as it was presented, but finally after a year had to admit there was no way to get anywhere near the top tier without spending ridiculous money.  So we quit.

I played a few pay 2 win games.  There are actually many people who get to the top tier without spending money.  They just play 10 hours a day.

I asked a few of them why they play the game.  Some of them just say they don't want to pay real money.

and may be they enjoy the grind.

Some spent huge amount of time in games like D3 too (anyone who is on the ladder would have spent huge amount of time) but they probably find running random dungeons again and again fun, because of the combat.

Personally, i can do may be 1-3 weeks of the new combat after a patch (the meta always change) before I got sick of it. But hey .. 1-3 weeks of free (since the game is already paid for) fun  every 3-4 months is a pretty good deal.

I am sure i will eventually be sick of the game .. but i did get a lot of enjoyment out of the grind (otherwise i won't be spending even 5 min in a game).

wheres the p2w in gw2? havent seen any?
The game is pretty balanced there can be no p2w related to the actual gear as the gear is within 5% stats difference, there are many advantages as to the visuals, chat, auction and stuff if you buy the game but its not p2w.
Related to GW2 tho, i would like to scorn their ways of messing up with f2p players tho, one of the reasons people quit the game soon as they installed to try it.

Even though you should be able to whisper people if you are f2p every new person every minute (trust me i tried, it bugs out, saying you need to wait 20sec for any whisp) had conversation something like this last i played:

-random dude: "Hello, how long do you think untill boss spawns please?"
--I try to respond but it throws the "you can not whisper players" in my face along with pop-ups to buy the game
-random dude: "Why do you not respond? Whats up?"
-- Im jumping and trying to run away from him since i can not respond, maybe he will ask someone else
random dude: "You piece of **** What is wrong with people, why is everyone being an ass**** Wtf **** ** *****" and so on

Arenanet does not have the slightest idea of how to make a good f2p game, opposed to let us say
Enmasse Tera NA who just nailed it, best F2p MMORPG of all time hands down.

    Exactly !
Games like Archeage, Aion, Perfect&Forsaken World etc etc
are filled mostly by grinders who spend months upon months to maybe never reach p2w players.

And i mean like hundreds of thousands of grinders. Yeah, people are bored, but mostly masochistic :)

If you want a P2W game, Revelation Online.
Only way for a non-P2W player to compete in PvP is to play a class that has healing abilities (SpiritShaper or Occultist) and focus on healing the whales on your team so they can beat out the whales on the other team.

    FF XIV:
Day 1 Savage Clears requiring equivalent to 500 - 800 million worth in gear + melds.

    Guild Wars 2:

Players buy GEMS and turn them into GOLD to gear up and claim an advantage.

    Nexon and EA games
Their monetization is legendary to the point their actions are known by non-gamers. Their legendary status came from the fact that while some companies are cute and enter litigation in court rooms, both of these companies have caused legislative branches in different nations to work on making laws protecting citizens from their actions.

ESO, Emperor/Vamp there are some pretty good videos of armies of players trying to kill him before the nerf which also messed up PvE.  SWG, Doc/Swordsmen was good. Jedi with Feign Death which had no timer and you took no damage, you were unkillable.  Or any player who had knockdown/dizzy, spam that first and the fight was over.

    Neverwinter.

One shot city if you're not in max level enchants, max gear, max boons, max insignias, etc.

I do not recommend anyone tries PvP without either properly playing the whole PvE game fully for a considerable amount of time or, of course, dropping a ton of cash on the game so there's no point playing it anymore so they can uninstall it. It's completely achievable without paying, just for the record.. but you can pay to win if you wanted to.

This also translates into the PvE game, where you can get so powerful that you can just obliterate all the enemies anywhere in the game. I say Neverwinter is the Diablo of MMOs.. you constantly get more powerful until everything is trivial. Smash, smash, loot, loot.

Well any p2w game,Runes of magic was a huge p2w game so i would say likely that game. But in reality all these games with gear scores you are over powered compared to the lower tiers,it is such a bad area rpg's are in right now to gate content behind gear scores, like that has ANYTHING to do with role play gaming.

Now that i think about FFXI has an elixir or potion, haven't played in awhile can't remember but basically puts you in god mode for a short time.I try not to remember anything i feel should not be in a game.
Even still you are only as overpowered as the next guy that is competing for that same power level.

Hey Wiz, great to see you.

RPG is a genre now defined by the inclusion of progression systems which also includes statistical virtual items. It doesn't make much literal sense, just like saying something is 'sick' doesn't literally mean it's good.. but it still means it's good, unless you are actually pointing at some sick and calling it sick. That's when saying sick literally means sick. You could also have slipped on some sick and said "Ooooh noooo, I just slipped on some sick". It can get confusing if you walked out of a club saying "That was sick!" and a girl was just sick against the wall outside. It may be unclear whether or not you were talking about the girl being sick or saying that the club was sick. You could also have been saying that the girl being sick was good! It's a hard life when something like that happens but we get through it.

I suggest you put your Dungeons & Dragons rulebooks and medieval reenactment props away when you plan to use or go near any kind of computer or video game system in the future so you don't get confused or upset by this anymore.

Looking forward to your next comment wherever it may be!
