Ugh, none of these options are appealing to me. What a bleak landscape.

I feel for you, but I'm really looking forward to a number of these titles, tossing out the Korean ones.

SoL for me, but there is no way anything remotely resembling a finished game will be released in 2019. Have you played the game before you included it in the list?

I mean the concept is very exciting, for me, but it has a long long way to go. I would say 5 years given the size of the team.

Torchlight also looks nice, but I think its monetization will force me to pass on the game. Also, if I am not mistaken, they are not going heavy on vertical character progression outside of gear which is not a good choice for this type of game, in my opinion.

We'll be ready when we're ready, and not until then.
You need a new slogan, that one is well worn out by the likes of....SC, CU and prit near every other indie dev house.

How about "We won't launch until we know the game is amazing."

The pvp sandboxes don't retain pve players, naturally, but also don't have the appeal for people that like first person shooters or the instant gratification of theme park pvp. Maybe I'll be proven wrong but I feel like these games will only be able to build so much hype and then the success they can turn that into probably won't be long term after any initial highs.

I expect CU to come out with some damn cool videos of gameplay segments this year, but fuck me i dont see it releasing in 2019, i'd peg that at a 12-20% chance.

Well only really 1 there that sounds of any decency and that NEW WORLD. As for the rest there either rewrites of old, games that have been in production since 2013 (and more than likely will have outdated graphics and just have copied what has already been done before with nothing new) or games like LOST ARK that will be such a grind that its just no fun at all (korean games and players like that) western gamers DO NOT. Oh and they will also have the in game item store must be used attitude (as well as a monthly subscription).... FT

Camelot Unchained is at least 2 years a way.  Right now its a cluster fuck.

Pantheon is another game 2 years a way.  Its looking good but it needs more time for development

Ashes of Creation  2 maybe 3 years away.  They need to stop wasting their time with the Battle Royale and just make the dam MMORPG.  They need to expect work that is a waste of time from Indian companies too.

For me the next 2 years will be Classic WOW until one of these games come out in a full release that is well polished.

CU isnt a clusterfuck, it just is a 18lb pot roast that got put in the oven 8 and a half minutes ago.

It's gonna be tasty, but not that soon.

Guessing you're about right with the 2 years estimate, maybe 2.5?

Clusterfuck is "stuff exists and is bad, things bumping into each other in ways that make them break" - CU is just underbaked.

Some look good, Bless Unleashed is just a console port. I did notice that there is no word from Star Citizen. I really was looking forward to it and it seems to be a boondoggle now as they keep doing other things instead of just finishing the main game.

You must know something we don't know @BillMurphy!

We're still in Early Access pre-alpha. Release #12 drops in March (tentatively), which is when we are adding questing/harvesting/crafting in their first iterations (tenatively), and it's about the same time we'll be turning off our pre-order store and transitioning to alpha (tentatively), but we're a long way from a released product. Our official release date is still "TBA"

Though thanks for the wishful thinking and mention :)
LOL, I was actually reading the website and saw the part about:

WHEN WILL SAGA OF LUCIMIA BE AVAILABLE?

MMORPGs typically take between 6 – 8 years to develop.

The project started as an idea in early 2014. Our programming began in earnest in mid-2015, with our Early Access kicking off September of 2015.

We have the benefit of being self-published, which means we aren’t working against any timeline other than our own. We’ll let you know when we have an estimated window of launch.

AKA, someone didn't do their research! *eyes @BillMurphy *
    He got all overexcited again!

Looking forward to Torchlight and remaining curious about Anthem. The rest of these, either won't make it to the West in 2019 or are PvP build/destroy games (call it sandbox all you want, destroying/defending what others/you have built is the basic gameplay).

Really only thing here for me would be A:IR. High chance it will be a cash grab/bomb at launch but one can hope it wont be. Really need something to no life!
Heard rumor that it will be tab target (which I prefer) and classes wont have gender locking (which drives me up the wall. IDC if you want to play as a female character that's up to you, got nothing against it. However give me the option to play X class as male)

The black desert team makes me weary but blue hole has been pretty good with there cash shop.

None of those titles apeal to me at all. The only game I'm looking forward to so far for 2019 is a SP story driven game on the Play Station. I have pretty much given up on MMO's that don't focus on open world PVP and come from the west.

Another year of no MMORPGs releasing, well none I'm actually interested in.

Fortunately,  plenty of depth in my Steam and GOG libraries,  still enjoying FO76, want to return to NMS, always still E:D waiting in the wings and who knows CCP might surprise me.

Oh yes, and the Phoenix is rising on Jan 12th.

    B)

Oh, I'll be on Phoenix for sure. I'll probably check out CU and SoL as well, IF they launch this year.

We won't be launching this year. You'll know when we are ready, as we'll have an official press release and statement from sagaoflucimia.com and our associated social media/newsletter/etc.
No worries. At this point, I think most of us are used to waiting.
True, along with the fact SoL never solicited funds using blatantly false pretext such as was done by almost every other crowd funded / indie developer out there.

Backed CU. Hope it turns out well.

Lost Ark looks like a fun arpg and I'll definitely try it.

I'll wait and see on Crowfall. Otherwise, looking forward to more on Pantheon. And yeah, were is Star Citizen? Still 2020 or beyond?

Most of the games like Crowfall and Camelot Unchained I would dearly love to play but the combat is something I am unable to do well in. I don't mind the PvP since that is what those games are about but the fast action combat in Crowfall made me crestfallen as it excludes me definitely. Nobody will want a player like me in their group even to carry their ammo or boots.

Bless Unleashed? OK, I am sure a year is long enough for people to forget that fiasco, being quite serious as gamers seem to have the memories of a goldfish when it comes to buying games.

Yes at this point Crowfall is way too complex for a new gamer. I am starting to get concerned with the lack of things to do. At this point all they have is grinding resources and pvp (which I love PvP). Just worried about the longevity of the game.

I've been looking for look forward to Crowfall for a long time now, but recently got worried. Was playing in a current MMO a D a discussion broke out about it that was focused on how Pay 2 Win it was. Can you tell me if this is accurate or hopefully overblown?
Crowfall has never been pay to win, but some people claimed it was for a couple reasons. First, VIP subscriptions provided more passive training than non-VIP. This extra training provided more options to the player, but not more power, as you couldn't simply train twice in the same thing. You had to choose different races and classes. You couldn't even train multiple crafting professions at the same time, instead having to use the second training for exploration or combat. A VIP and a non-VIP playing the same race and class, and both training in combat, would be 100% equal in terms of power, assuming they both started training at the same time.

Whether or not this was P2W is all moot now anyway, as they have changed skill training with the introduction of talents. Both VIP and non-VIP train the exact same number of skills now. There is no difference at all.

The second reason was because Artcraft sold stuff like castles and other things that can be used in Eternal Kingdoms. Eternal Kingdoms are glorified housing. Players can set up markets in their EKs, but they can also set up vendors in campaigns now, and none of the buildings/parcels that can be bought in the store can be used in campaigns. EKs will depend on exports from campaigns as the resources needed to craft the things you will sell are only available in campaigns. Buying a bunch of parcels and buildings for your EK doesn't even give an advantage in terms of EK markets, as you still need to craft the stalls and vendors and you need to craft all the things that will be sold on those vendors. It's too much for one person to do by themselves. The biggest, most successful EK markets will be groups of people working together, and everything that can be purchased can also be crafted in game. Any group wanting to have an EK market can pool their parcels/buildings together and upgrade them via crafting.

Artcraft changed what they were selling in the store a year ago. They used to sell castles for $8,000. The castles were there for guilds to buy and not really intended for individuals. And again, they gave zero competitive advantage as they can't be used in campaigns where the actual PvP competition happens. A year ago, they stopped selling anything that cost more than $200. Now the only things you can buy are skins, game packages, guild kits, and some houses and parcels. All of these items, except for the skins, can only be used in EKs. The skins are for mounts, but you have to craft the mount first.

So, anyone telling you that CF is P2W is uninformed. They probably watched a certain video by a certain player who used to be very into Crowfall, but decided that it was heading in the wrong direction and used his youtube platform to misinform a bunch of people.
