Subnautica is free at Epic Games Store and a talk on what companies are truly shady as hell

Hey guys,

I just picked up subnautica free from Epic Games Store. I was deciding whether to buy it or not and that just took the answer from me.

It's funny to me when people complain about video game companies. I guess i'd understand if I was a die hard blizzard fan or bethesda fan. I guess, if GGG (which 80% is owned by Tencent) made their game P2W, I guess I'd be furious but then again, i'd just say, well there are a lot of other games I can get addicted to. It's just that Path of Exile is always there for me to enjoy.

As a healthcare professional, the biggest BS companies are the health insurance companies, they heavily dictate what doctor's do, what medications the patient gets, how quickly the patient can be seen, and make life miserable for physicians just trying to do what's right for patients.

Plus, the health insurance companies lead hospitals to artificially inflate prices so when a person isn't covered, they get WTF owned by prices.

To give you an example of how stupid health insurance companies can be, I had a newborn baby born to a mother with HIV. The treatment is the following:
1) Give mom anti-retroviral treatment to keep her viral load down as much as possible.
2) Treat the newborn ASAP with AZT (zidovudine) for 6 weeks.

The stupid insurance company refused to pay for the medication for the newborn because they needed the prescription to come from a specialist . . .  it's like "hey retards, you don't need a specialist for this," and the baby didn't get the medication for 2-3 days until I had to get the prior authorization done. The treatment for a child born to a mother with HIV is pretty standard for decades now.

They do all sorts of BS like that, i'm not sure if the insurance is just stupid as they don't know what is normal care or they're just trying to nickle and dime.

My point is, it's funny to me to see people go nuts over what a video game company does . . . compared to what other companies do that have a much more important role in society.

Then again, looking back, I hate NCsoft with a passion for their bot problems and their lies about doing what they can to fix it and I wonder what would happen if GGG messed with PoE.

and now go pickup subnautica free from epic games.

p.s.
I spent $60 in path of exile getting a cosmetic pack with points to spend (i told myself I'd hit 90 and then get one . . . i did and then the character subsequently died, cuz i'm a fool)

Since I like dinosaurs and like survival games (while Kyleran pukes) I may pickup Ark even though their company is a bit shady. I may also pickup massive chalice.

I'm still on the fence with Project Gorgon, but all my skills are maxed in the demo, so i'm not sure I'll play again until i get the real game.

I don't really have any clue what you are talking about as far as game developers go.  You seem all over the place and non-specific.

Anyway, I also picked up Subnautica from the EGS, and I have to say that it's an awesome game.  I'm definitely thinking I'll probably buy the expansion/spin-off they are working on.
It's also a good example of a quality game made in the Unity engine, for those people who like to say Unity is garbage.

My point is, people bitch and moan about game companies doing shady stuff. I laugh because if you want truly shady stuff, look at health insurance companies. That's all.

Remember that insurance companies are also heavily regulated.  If the insurance company needed a specialist, it's most likely because the state law dictates that to the insurance company.

Health insurance law has gone off the rails, largely because the folks sniffed out massive profits, started lobbying like hell, and haven't stopped since.
