One of BioWare's most beloved narrative developers was Mike Laidlaw who left the company last year to pursue new opportunities. One of those is as the narrative consultant for The Waylanders, a new "time-travelling fantasy RPG" that has just landed on KickStarter. The team is hoping to raise $150,000 over the coming month that will help it develop "an engaging narrative featuring impactful character development, unique companion romance options and a deeply technical combat system".

I'm VERY cautious about my KS projects, but have yet to be disappointed by the ones I've backed. I chipped in.

They have been working on it since 2016, which you could have read on their KS page. They aren't making it for 150k....
Also, this politics diarreah that drips into every thread when someone doesn't agree? Its getting really annoying and is just lazy.

Easy enough. Really hard to tell what sarcasm is on here, since that was what i as going for...just like you claim you were going for an "inside" joke.

I never attacked you, the poster , i asked what the heck a KIA was and why should anyone care...
You started right in on personal attacks which you have carried on with on every single reply.
Like most people now-a-days...the ones that start yelling about how unpleasant people are, or the ones with issues, really need to look into a mirror to see where the issue is.

I have yet to see a single developer beyond the initiate dev that utilizes elements.It is a simple concept but one that creates a lot of depth.
Seeing these arrow formations and the copy of a 300 movie shell under the shields is cool in a movie seeing it a couple times but seeing i over and over in a game would start to look very silly.
Then the other problem is the game and it's combat becomes nothing more than a simple game of formation versus formation.
Football teams have formations,it still comes down to the individual skills,defenses adapt to what they see,in a game it is just bad because a computer doesn't have to think like a person it just reacts using scripts.So the game is trying to act like real people but is just scripts.
Game design or even just combat design takes a LOT of work,i cannot nor can anyone fully explain it in an internet forum,i just know from hundreds of thousands of hours of gaming what works what doesn't and what can be improved.The rest is left up to the creative director,to give us something creative and unique,challenging but still interesting and fun.
If you don't see the idea as looking dumb like i do then i'll draw up a scenario to really prove it.Ok you and your friends are walking through the forest...a BEAR jumps out,NOBODY in your group of friends is yelling out ...OK JIMMY....SARAH.....JEFF assume the proper FORMATION !!!
