They do well with what they have, but prettiest mmo out there is a big statement. Lotro is just a game that Ive wanted to play but never found the time to. And now im so many years behind i wont even bother

that's why I said "one of the prettiest", not THE prettiest... btw I'm talking about looks and LOTRO's graphics, while dated, still are very nice.

Ignore haters, these people have no clue how beautiful the design is in LOTRO because it is a mature MMO kids just don't get.

    Reading is hard.

Dude, you are never too far behind to enjoy this world. It is about the journey, not end game.

    pretty, yes but
in depth graphics design outdated; maybe 10 years ago I would call it decent.

Part of me wants to come back...but dear lord, I never made it to max level...back when the game was new. ...I've missed so much. :\

Still, I loved the Lore-master's cast animations and spell effects.

    GAAAAAAAAAH! TOO MANY GAMES!!! >_<

Our greatest glory is not in never falling but in rising everytime we fall.

The graphics of Lotro has aged well and here's why. Turbine did a good job on the graphics and really captured the feel of Lord of the Rings. Graphics for gaming generally has not advanced as much in the post Lotro launch years (last 11) as it did prior to that (previous 8). So even when Lotro launched EQ looked really dated, now you have to look around and compare Lotro to something like BDO to make it look dated. Not many MMOs out there with graphics like BDO.

The graphics have aged well. They may not be "cutting edge" but there are no "old and just plain bad" zones either - that other "older" games have / had.

And there has been a series of improvements in the last few years - started back when they were still under WB.

One of the things I noticed with the recent U23 though - having logged back in to check things out - was the sound effects. Not the new area yet just logged into a low level character to get the co-ordination back so maybe its just the zones I have been in so far but they seem to be on steroids.

@illutian the nature of the playerbase is that its perfectly feasible to come back. LotR isn't an endgame raid orientated game - that part does exists but it (still) functions at all levels. And it is about the content. There are however a lot of games to play these days.
