A full day ahead of the deadline, the Elder Scrolls Online community has completed the #Summerfall event! After 100% of players managed to hit the Summerset Pathfinder Achievement, the ESO team tweeted out its congratulations. All participating players will receive the Psijic Mascot Pony pet, the Psijic Escort Charger mount and the Grand Psijic Villa house!

Even though I don't play ESO on a regular schedule anymore, congratulations to the ESO community for the achievement. It was fun to read about.

"shocked face" While this specific event wasn't much to brag about in terms of a challenge, doing more of this in the future is a surefire way to inspire loyalty in a community.

I'm still not sure how this percentage was calculated but I'll take the free Villa (yes I completed the achieve).

Don't need the achieve to get the prizes, just own Summerset:

What are the rules for eligibility?

If you own The Elder Scrolls Online: Summerset and log into the game before October 7, you are eligible to receive each reward (if its requirements are met). Even if you only buy the new Chapter towards the end of the event and are unable to earn the Summerset Pathfinder Achievement in time, you will receive the rewards. The deadline for acquiring the Summerset Chapter and logging in is October 7 at 8:00PM EDT.

edit: and log in by deadline.

So basically buy the game before October 7th login to the game then log-out and you get free content?

We have had posters on here saying this was a sham because 100% could never be achieved, indeed I think they tried to link this to the general cash shop shenanigans we see in MMOs all the time. Well ZeniMax and the players have burst that bubble. :)

These days I only login to ESO to get the daily reward, train my horse on 3-4 alts, renew the crafting and log. Still a nice gift.

Of course its a sham I own two accounts with Summerset on them and I havent even been to the island on either of them let alone gotten an achievement.

But then again I dont know how they tallied the percentages. But it certainly isnt by tracking OWNERS of the DLC or expansion or whatever clever name they called that one, getting the achievement.

How did they get the number because I know 100% people didn't get it. Not complaining about the free stuff though.

This isn't a signature, you just think it is.

There was dev post from Gina on the official forum thread about that:

The 100% completion goal on the Summerfall Event progress meter is a goal-post we set when designing this event that we believe everyone has a high likelihood of reaching. We want you all to have fun with this event and successfully earn all three event rewards, and we chose a goal with that in mind.

While we aren’t disclosing numbers – that would take away from the fun! – we can again confirm that “100%” does not mean 100% of all players who own ESO or even Summerset.

It was a freebie giveaway disguised as an event all along.

Hey I like free stuff but they could have just as well said...'we are giving away a free pet, a free mount and a free villa.' That probably would have garnered as much if not more good feelings. But they wanted to make it about 'community' I suppose. Which is all well and good but when the criteria are super secret then it takes away from it.

If they want to go all "WoW' and have a server event that opens up a new dungeon that requires both sides to contribute then do that. That would be cool I guess at least sort of nostalgic. I remember all the server hoppers who went from server to server just to do the event once they triggered.

In the end this all feeds into the 'participation trophy' generation where everyone gets something whether they contributed or not. Which is IMO the reason why the U.S (at least) is in the complete tail spin it is in these days. So while some will applaud it others can be critical of it for their own various reasons. The most obvious in this case coinciding with a Summerset sale, and I am sure an eventual discount of some kind on furnishing/landscape packages.

The players scored 100% or 100% of the players accomplished this? Two totally different things and I seriously doubt 100% of the players accomplished it because I did not and I am a player lol.
