According to Newsweek (via BlueTurtle13), it appears that Bethesda has filed for a trademark called "Redfall" that may finally provide a hint to Elder Scrolls 6, the sequel to the much loved Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. The trademark was filed with the United States Patent and Trademark Office and the only thing that we can glean from the paperwork is that it is for "computer game software" and "entertainment services, namely, providing on-line interactive computer games".

    There is no 'Redfall' in the lore. So, who knows what it means.

    I saw a guy on YT saying he thinks it is about TES 6 because "red" is from Redguard and "fall" is from Daggerfall.

    Personally I think it's a new IP about the last days of the Soviet Union.

    That is not what that means. The same verbiage was used for Skyrim trademark as well as Oblivion and thousands and thousands of other single player games. Including Cyberpunk 2077.
    That is standard TM compliance wording to mean and include anything that may have a server side functionality like cloud saves and mods.
    This also protects the trademarked IP in case they add co-op or plan to add any form of multiplayer at all. In addition, it protects the IP if they decide to create films, books or any other print and/or digital print work based on the IP Redfall.
    It could mean a lot of different things but the most logical conclusion would be ESVI. It fits the timeline for development based on their project cycles.
    Well, true. I've seen that before now that I remember.

    And at E3 I think it was, they teased what looked like Daggerfall at the very end of the showing/video.

    The first part of your post I agree with. I didn't place much meaning on the online part. But TES VI is still pretty far off as in several years.

    The best clues we have is what Tod Howard said in some interviews a couple of months back when he confirmed that a) Starfield will release before TES VI and b) Starfield is being developed for the next gen consoles. That in my mind puts TES VI somewhere in 2021 at the very earliest and 2022 as more likely since Bethesda typically waits a couple of years or more between their releases.  This is all assuming the PS5 and Xbox 2 come out for Christmas 2019 and that they release Starfield around the same time.

    If this is a trademark for TES VI, it seems a bit early to lock-in the name.

    The only video of it was a brief 20 second fly over some rolling hills near a coast line with a couple of ruins that Bethesda released at E3. Some people think that it looks like Hammerfell but I'm not convinced it does.

    Like I said, that's what many seem to think but we're looking at terrain using a new engine that is better than they have had in games before. We could be seeing something we've seen before and just not recognize it because of the better graphics.To me it looks like it could just as easily be High Rock, Cyrodiil or Eslewyr.

    There were some rumors on Reddit a few years back from an alleged insider leak that correctly predicted Boston for FO4 and got a few other Bethesda things right. The rumor was that the internal name for TES VI at that time was "Project Greenhart" that led people to believe it would take place in Valenwood. But I think we can rule that out from that fly-over since most of Valenwood is heavy forest.

    A new Bethesda game is only noteworthy if it is built on a new engine. Their creation engine is unworthy and inadequate for a modern game.

    I could care less about their engine.

    As long as they give me an open world, a chance to create the character the way I want/play the way I want, I'm good.

    I don't still boot up Morrowind and then shut it down because the engine isn't up to snuff. B)

    Maybe Redguards invaded Daggerfall and hence the "Redfall"? Maybe the Redguards got invaded by something? Maybe it's about the Yokudan isles?

    It's about a red waterfall that plays a pivotal role in the upcoming TE6.  Drinking from the fountain gives you "yells" that you can perform in addition to your class skills.

    Pretty innovative stuff.

    That's a huge leap, I am hoping for something completely new, but that's wishful thinking I know. :)

    I game centered around a growing and dangerous plague affecting the land would be pretty interesting. 




    OMG NO!, a TES battle royale and the plague will act as the shrinking circle.

    FML... I hope this is all just a bad dream.
