Elements touted long before there's any idea how to do them.  Nothing locked down in the design.   Everything becomes a gimmick if you futz around long enough.

Calling this game an alpha is an insult to alphas.  The point of an alpha is to test the mechanics that will be in the final game and in Star Citizen's case, even the flight mechanics are due to be scrapped and reworked let alone all the other  announced mechanics completely missing from the current "alpha" like base building, hospitals, crafting, ENEMY AI, etc.

None of the gimmicks I mentioned are in game. Not one of them is more than just bullet points on a webpage. Yet, they are selling concept ships that are built around a gimmick or two without knowing if the gimmicks are going to work out. Imagine dumping $400 on a ship that was sold to you as something that did Gimmick A but did Gimmick A the best and no other ship can do it like this brand new $400 concept ship. Then, 2 years from now, Gimmick A kinda just disappears among some hidden, buried statement and your $400 ship that is still in concept, is no better than a $90 ship.
I can't imagine any rational person paying $400 for a single pixelated starship in any circumstance so the argument is lost on me.

If you pledge money to a crowdfunded game in development with the intent of having an advantage (LTI) or a particular gameplay mechanic or any other "gimmick" you become The Gimmick.

Crowdunding pledges are not pre-orders, game development is not static, assume that everything is and always will be subject to change.

You don't buy "ships" or gameplay mechanics to give you an edge or benefit, that's a rookie mistake, or carebear as you call it. Adjust your expectations accordingly or be prepared to own your mistakes and frustrations.

The irony is deep in that comment.

This guy bought something NOT fo ran advantage but because it was a ship that had what he wanted. When it stopped having what he wanted he sold it. But for the other 1239576 trillion "citizens' who have bought ships I expect 99% of them did in fact buy a ship hoping for the advantage you want to continue to claim wont exist.

Well they wont because the game isnt going to be released, it will at best be a perpetual test bed tech demo with a few dog fight simulators people have seen for the past 2-3 years.

Sure thing. Just like all the amazing footage from backers playing and having fun since the first playable released version back in 2014 are just pre-rendered cutscenes right  :dizzy:

Star Marine doesn't exist and the seamless landings on proc gen moons neither. Vehicles inside vehicles is not possible and now there's no persistence because "whatever" lol

    Right on... B)
