Putting 2k on something you have no knowledge about! How reasonable.  :D

This trolling really isn't necessary. He would only have spent $2k if he thought the proposed game and delivery date were reasonable. Not many people give money for a product that they're willing to wait for indefinitely.

They're only reasonable and "thank you for supporting my game" if they stay in right?
If they logically get a refund after 7 years of constant delays and broken promises they're unreasonable.

    Convenient logic.

Wont be surprised if this project breaks world record for longest game in development.

Basically clicking away text windows ruins every MMO, try to have fun instead of rushing things. Without story and lore all there is left is a bunch of mechanics.

We will never know, only indie games declare when they are starting by CF, gaming house projects are often in a "fit state to show something" stage before anything gets announced.

Whilst there are games like Darkfall - which battled with financial issues for over a decade - a good example of an "in-house" game would be Destiny.

Destiny was "made" in under 3 years (about 32 months) from announcement. Lots of stuff was released as well about the tools Bungee's team had to develop. The announcement however was from when the time they announced the deal with Activision Blizzard. Ask yourself: do you think Avtivision Blizzard signed a multi-million contract with Bungee on a quick outline?

Clearly not. Bungee will have put together something pretty detailed initially, then spent more time refining the concept with AB, with estimates, timelines, resource build up plans showing they would be able to get the staff and so on before finally spending yet more time with AB agreeing a contract, payment terms and so forth. With AB talking about $500M spend etc.

After which - secure in the knowledge that they had the money - Bungee (an established company ) put together a team that numbered over 454 when they finished.  And once announced they did a superb job imo. All that stuff before it was announced though ..... ?

Suggestions that SC's first couple of years were "mismanaged" don't pan out. They didn't have the HR staff to hire staff so they hired some sub-contractors to get things started. Managing Managing sub-contractors takes staff though and regular meeting, discussion, co-ordination. So issues were inevitable. The reaon they hired the sub-contractors though - they had to start doing stuff to get the money to get the staff.

They pulled off what they had to do to get the job done. And given the position SC is in today? The end result says that it was very well managed. Notwithstanding them, imo, underestimating the complexity of setting a multi-country project.

A lot of it though I suspect will have been needs must. Just as it was with the early sub-conntractors. The Crysis staff becoming available - in Germany; the US-UK exchange rate allowing more value for a studio in the UK etc.

Leading to today's "boredom". Boredom since they have released 3.1 and 3.2 and there is no suggestion that they won't release other quarterly drops.

Remember nothing is set in stone its just release whatever is done at the end of a quarter. Some things slipped sure, some things came forward. And some elements, the so called 6 month stuff, were replanned - not the same as a slip.

    Trolling?

How is it reasonable to put 2k into crowdfunding and then treating it as a pre-order when video-games usually go for only a fraction of that?

How is it reasonable to not expect changes and delays in the development of a game?

Even more a game from a developer known for ambitious and costly titles like the wing commander saga or Freelancer?

Maybe do some research before splashing money out of impulse :D

Out of +700.000 Backers, we have here as usual the same 10 guys that are shooting non sense comments about release in 5 or 10 years...
Current Rodmap do give visibility 4 quarters ahead and those 4 next patch cover a good 80% of remain to be added as contents and gameplay. In short by end of 2019, CIG have 3 others patch to cover the 20 remaining percent. Knowing the most dificult are deliver in Q3 and Q4 of... 2018. :)

Yeah trolling. You have no idea how much knowledge he had about the game at the time he put his money down, trying to imply he had done it in ignorance is simple trolling.

Why do you suddenly care what he's doing with his money?

And we have the same half a dozen defenders spinning the usual defense line...

People talking about the game being a long way from release are probably more accurate than the fanboys....

Sure I know. He had 0 knowledge then and hopefully bit more now.
And i couldnt care less about his money I'm pointing out his crying.

Just like I have no sympathy for ppl spending fortunes in casinos and then complaining dont expect me having it for people who dont know what crowdfunding or video-game development is.  :D

The only things we can be certain of is you have zero knowledge of what he knew and that your trolling is as lame as ever.

That's the only reason I see someone splashing 2k on something without doing any research whatsoever and then complaining because what usually happens happened is lack of knowledge and discernment to acknowledge the inherent risks.

Still I'm still pretty sure he knows more now than when he backed, hopefully lol

Still has bit to go to make the podium:

Duke Nukem Forever - 14 years

    Prey - 11 years

    Beyond Good and Evil 2 -  (2007- ??? )

Final Fantasy XV - 10 years

The Last Guardian - 9 Years

    Spore - 8 years

    Team Fortress 2 - 8 years

    Half-Life 3 ( ??? )

    Sauce: https://exp.gg/en/exp-original-en/47533

Even if you consider the crowdfunding campaign, the assembly of studios across the world, logistics and all that Star Citizen development is not only one game but 2 because of the single player campaign Squadron 42 is being developed at the same time but works as a separate game on it's own.

All in all an incredible effort by a lot of people! Congratulations to the ones who keep making it possible! :)

Ahaha the salty goons and their desperate wishful thinking that other games could affect Star Citizen since their efforts keep failing...

The ELE (Extinction Level Event) proclaimed by derek dumb and it's sad goon acolytes all over again lol... This was what? Back in 2016? How did that turned out friends? :D

Now just put warframe logo on top of those games now and you're good to go lol
Let's see how that pans out this time B) Add LoD in there just for kicks lolll

Their desperate FUD really is hanging by a thread now, back to fake glassdoor reviews and now new ELE's...

You can't make this up. :D 90 days top!

Five minutes or less, is that how long you can play the current alpha before encountering a crash or game-shattering bug?
