So apparently, Blizzard decided that his name is Wrecking Ball in game, not Hammond.  Which is strange, as that makes him the only hero to receive an object name as opposed to using the actual character name.

Maybe upcoming patches will update Zenyatta's name to "Buddha Bot" and Bastion to "Turret Tank." :D

EDIT- Listen to Jeff describe an in-depth background for Hammond.  He landed outside Junkertown, and Jeff describes his attitude upon landing (no joke lol): "While this might have been an overwhelming challenge to some, Hammond really embraced the moment. . ."  Another nugget: "Now, there's certain things I should clarify for you.  Hammond cannot talk, he does not speak English or any other language.  That would be completely ridiculous as we all know."

I cannot make this shit up.

Playing him on PTR, his biggest detriment is none of his team can keep up with his mobility.  You need to actually be late to the fight and come in.....  like a wrecking ball.

EDIT- In other news, DF still appears to be garbage tier, generally. :(

Apparently the ability to talk isn't required to operate advanced machinery in Overwatch, just as it isn't in real life. This is kind of a non-issue to complain about.

I think he was being facetious, just as I'm pretty sure Jeff was with the "he can't speak English because that would be ridiculous."

I enjoyed the satire, personally.  I never looked at Overwatch as a serious game; Winston has an emote where he pulls out a flashlight and makes shadow spiders with his feet.  It's not exactly Tom Clancy.

Now I have a picture in my head of spiders using a flashlight to make a shadow Tom Clancy with their feet. I need sleep....

'the only way he could nail it any better is if he used a cross.'

    Kyleran on yours sincerely

'But there are many. You can play them entirely solo, and even offline. Also, you are wrong by default.'

Ikcin in response to yours sincerely debating whether or not single-player offline MMOs exist...

'This does not apply just to ED but SC or any other game. What they will get is Rebirth/X4, likely prettier but equally underwhelming and pointless.

It is incredibly difficult to design some meaningfull leg content that would fit a space ship game - simply because it is not a leg game.

It is just huge resource waste....'

Gdemami absolutely not being an armchair developer

They can't seem to pick a theme and stay with it though.  They have this story with 2 sides, with death betrayal and loss, and HEY HEY HEY! A Hamster in a Wreckingbot! Waka waka waka!

So did anyone notice the name connection between this Hammond Hamster and Richard Hammond of Top Gear / Grand Tour whose nickname is Hamster?

Yeah someone at Blizzard is a fan I'm sure. To much of a coincidence.
