While Intel is still the leader, some of these issues make me balk at buying Intel lately.  While AMD has issues too, my concern with heat is not as much an issue with them.  Most of the PC's I build today are AMD based and my customers have few complaints.

    Some good points in here. Unfortunately, I don't see Intel moving to implement them anytime soon - none of these points nets them more marketshare or growth and would actually harm their revenue streams (and therefore, hurt the share price).... unless, miraculously, AMD does manage to make a very noticeable dent in their existing PC sales.

    Maybe Intel will hire someone that realizes they have been in slow motion the last few years.  They could really dominate the market if they cleaned up their products.

    Basically everyone at Intel realizes that things have gone awry.  The headliner is that their 10 nm process node is now late by how many years?  But realizing that something has gone wrong is much easier than fixing it.
