Black Desert Online News - The Black Desert Online site has been updated with a new post to let players know that they can now "date an NPC". The process is simple. Players simply need to check out the 15 available bachelors and bachelorettes and begin to "build amity" by choosing to give them presents. The process can be accelerated by using Marketplace-registrable items up to 50M Silver. When the Amity level reaches 1,000, it's time for the big confession of affection. But wait! That's not all!

    So let me get this straight, players compete with each other to get the highest affection points with an NPC so they can be the winner and date the NPC for a week. And to raise affection points even faster, you can use marketplace purchases?

    So basically, whatever whale is dumb enough to pay the most money to BDO gets to date an NPC for a week?

    This is bad on every level. I'm glad I never bothered with this game.

    I always used confuse the spelling of both Desert and Dessert. My teacher fixed the issue, though. She said, "If you want to remember which spelling to use, always remember that Dessert has two S's in it, because you will always want seconds!"

    Well it's based on averages not RNG, but had a good laugh either way.
    [[ DEAD ]] - Funny - I deleted my account on the site using the cancel account button.  Forum user is separate and still exists with no way of deleting it. Delete it admins. Do it, this ends now.

    Having a story based character interaction, such as bioware would have, is one thing.

    Now more and more governments start putting a ban on loot boxes, it seems they have already found a new way to scam people.

    That didn't take long.

    There's already anime based on people falling in love with robots, so why not an anime based on people falling in love with npcs in video games..../smh Then again FFXIV just introduced the ability to dress up npcs so it wouldnt surprise me if BDO lets you deck out your new found "lover" with Cash shop outfits

    Not surprising. The game is shallow as hell. I've been thinking about Bless and the ultra annoying and disgusting ads on this site like the one that says, "Wings and claws" and all "dragon glory" and they show basically a porn girl in armor. Add BDO and now it solidifies my thought that I won't play an online game made in the far east. Just don't share the same values nor the same taste in graphics and art style.

    It seems western companies and companies from New Zealand (GGG) for me.

    I've never gotten much further than that first village after the swamp in Dragon Age Origins because of this false romancing of NPCs. 

    Well, that and I can't stand that ponce of a paladin you're stuck with.  Always with the 'do this, do that' whining but he's the one who put me in charge.

    Dating NPCs in MMORPGs?
    Sorry, but single player romance stories and otome games are 1000x better.
    Of course since I have the real thing in real life, it feels very diminished by comparison.
    Guess BDO is that desperate. So happy I left when I did.

    I always remembered it as the desert being dry and barren will have less so one 's' compared to a dessert which is rich and has two 's's. Your method is making me hungry.
