UE4... tbh i don't think these huge games work well with that engine. Look at Post Scriptum for example, i had to run the game on lowest settings possible and i still couldn't get more then 30-40fps.

Will definitely start playing this once it begins using UE4. Graphics of this game are the only thing holding me back from playing it.

But PS is not out and the optimization is in work atm (at least is what they claim) - but yeah, u4 has a price to pay.

UE4, and even Unity, are both fully capable engines. Developers skip optimizing so they can quickly get to a playable state without a lot of consideration in how much is being calculated in frame updates. They rush through to the end and then have the daunting task of going back and dissecting code that could be offloaded, and then making it thread safe.

The problem with games using these engines, aren't normally the engines. It's the developers ability to use them. They're so functional out of the box that it's easy to get ahead of yourself without an experienced engineer who knows the engine inside and out.

Since Post Scriptum is using SQUAD's framework, and SQAUD is still in alpha, that makes Post Scriptum an alpha of an alpha. That it gets 30-40 fps is sorcery.

Being there from the start June 6th 2001 I can say that I've never been happier to see this game still running strong. I truly hope WW2OL 2.0 will bring this game back to the mainstream. GL Cornered Rat!
