When was the last time we had a good ol' faction poll? No really I want to know when... somebody TELL ME PLEASE!

Okay well, howsabout you answer this one instead for those that are playing.

I always prefer playing elves but "aqua elf" sounds stupid". So Sylvan elf it is. But who knows, once in game maybe I'll think the Union side is all that and a bag of chips.

Union, but I'm not 100% sure yet. My decision will also have to take into consideration where my friends will be playing.

Union possibly. Mostly because I like the starting areas for the races on that side.

I'll give the same answer i gave to WoW factions. Life is too short to limit myself to one faction.

That being said, before choosing which faction will be my main and which will be secondary I need to know more about the Lore behind both factions and every allied race (playable and major NPC).

What is Hieron?

Hieron refers the the faction of the northern Bless continent and the Habicht led Holy Empire.The word Hieron means “Holy Alliance,” and the word itself originated from the Elven word “Hiera.”

Races of the Hieron faction are generally more conservative than those of the Union faction. They believe that the world would be a better place if order was established and maintained with the proper authority. Because of this view, they think that the current world is corrupt and lacks the values once prized by great heroes of the past.

Races:

The Habichts:

As the second human empire that inherited the spirit of the ancient Lumen, the Habichts are traditionally loyal, brave, and devoted to their empire.

Today, the Habichts Empire seeks to restore its influence in the southern continent and to build a great unified empire that will lead the future of all civilized races.

The Sylvan Elves:

The Sylvan Elves are a beautiful and noble forest tribe, the true descendants of the fallen Millennium Kingdom.

They aim to honor the last moments of the elf tribe by passing on civilization to the inexperienced human race.

The Sylvan Elves believe that, like the Millennium Kingdom of the past, the Holy Hieron (Habichts) Empire must become the true guardians of civilization.

They aim to make this a reality.

The Lupus:

One of the oldest races on the continent, the Lupus are strong and agile forest hunters. They are also honorable warriors who value loyalty, devotion, discipline, and obedience.

Following the teachings of the spirit, the Lupus value and love nature though they sometimes turn into rough and ferocious beasts when their hidden wild nature is provoked. To honor an ancient oath, the Lupus fought under the Hieron faction during the Holy War.

The Mascu - Available to both factions

The Mascus are quick at calculations and excellent at business, but they also possess a number of amazing skills.

The Mascus trade not only throughout the whole Zion continent from Senn, but they are also required to make a thorough report about the situation on the continent to the Chair of Senn.

Since the Mascus do not consider themselves as residents of the continent but as immigrants, they live as if commanded to explore the continent.

What is Union?

The Union faction is an alliance established by the Amistad, the southern Bless continent’s human race. The Amistad’s ancient Lumen Empire (the first human empire of the Bless world) was so prosperous that it once rivaled that of the current Habicht Empire.

Unlike the races of the Hieron faction, races of the Union faction are more progressive and believe that current problems of the world are due to the ever unchanging status system and hierarchical social structure. As a result, they are always searching for new ideas and values as they believe that fundamental change is vital.

Races:

The Amistad:

Amistad claim to be the true descendants of the ancient Lumen Empire. Intelligent, lively, and passionate, they consider freedom and advancement, and independence to be important values, and they love art, including music and poetry.

The Amistad Federation of Cities achieved independence from the Hieron through victory in the Fall War. This led the formation of Union, the southern races’ permanent military alliance. At present, they are challenging themselves to recreate the glory of the Lumen Empire.

Aqua Elves:

After the fall of the Millenium Kingdom, an exiled group of elves with different ideas about the race’s future emigrated to the south from El Gradis.

They built the marine city El Rano, and are currently searching through magical research for a way to overcome their fate as a race doomed to ruin.

Presently they are called Aqua Elves, and unlike the Sylvan Elves up north, they possess unhindered and free thoughts and an adventurous and defiant spirit.

Pantera:

Rulers of the desert, the Panteras look down upon weak and exclude them. An extraordinary hero called the Pantera King Murabi gathered the separate Pantera tribes and founded a powerful and united kingdom in the desert fortress Shaqqara. At present, Murabi is participating in the Union alliance with his warriors. He aims to guide the Panteras, who previously only knew of meaningless war and plunder, to a road of true victory and honor.

Mascu - Same as in Heiron

You almost had it all right, except.. Dogs always beat Cats. Especially cause the cats are like.. desert dwelling warlords and the dogs are like, werewolf noblemen. Like Teen Wolf in Parliament.

My question is, are they going to faction lock after a certain amount of people on one side? Cause if so, people might not have a choice right away.

@maskedweasel That was a good read, ty!

Of course once i play the game that will reinforce whichever decision i make, but based on the information you provided i am more inclined towards Union. The Hieron sound like they are satisfied living in the status quo, not a fan of that.

I guess Hieron will be my secondary/alt faction and Union will be my main. I'll still play both.

You pretty much nailed it. Since we're both mmo vets, what does that tell us? When I was in the Navy our lead Petty Officers had a joke that noobs recognizing the right answer when told was good enough to pass the test. I'm not saying Union is going to steamroll and I'm choosing the winning faction because I see the writing on the wall...

I do like the premise of the role-play side of the factions too. Race on the brink of extinction, rightful heirs usurped, Thundercats!

Also Thundercats. I wanna be on the Thundercats faction and that's all there is too it.

I'm confused here, they both look exactly the same (cats) except their fur color? Am I missing something?

That means you'll be playing on different servers (a single account cannot create characters in both factions on the same server).

Yeah that's the worst part of there only being 1 server at launch for each region.
