And about skipping content; @Sovrath , I'm not talking about pie carrying or mail delivering side quests. I'm talking about dungeons and things that has to do with the game lore.

They are not obligatory, but oh man, I wish I could do them to see more corners of this world I love so much.
I suppose there is something to be said about that. There are dungeon runs that I would love to do with a group but I'm not one for pick up groups anymore.

Part of the issue is how the developers created group content. I remember getting a quest that was group based, got into a group, we all went in the cave and killed "whateveritwas" and then group disbanded.

Maybe certain quests/questlines should be group only so that groups can form and stay together longer.

Would be great if they fixed this game so it doesn’t crash every time I enter Minas Tirith or zone from there to bree. Client instantly shuts down. I love the game and the community but that crashing issue forced me to stop playing :(
    Weird.... never had that issue.
Have you never crashed with a fast horse into MT or that area? That's pretty common. Same with the port into West Bree from some areas. Sometimes I can trigger CTD with the warsteed in Breeland too.
I've always had issues with the Warsteeds as they seem to only be good "going straight". As soon as I need to turn I crash into everything.

I went from RP servers to a more populated server and it is a complete different experience. There are new players everywhere, but they still rush skipping content tho - which is sad.
Odd.  I've not seen a glut of new players on either RP or normal servers.  Maybe alts, but not people that appear to be new to the game.  I guess it may be just a matter of when someone plays and what server they are on.

I will agree that new characters, no matter who is running them, are skipping content at every turn.  Last week, I had an alt out near the horse farm, running quests for Sapphires.  There were quite a number of similar level characters in the Bree area, but none ever came out to the turtle pond.

I think it's ok to skip certain quests. In any game. Or not do them at all.

I mean, when I play I don't do certain areas because "who cares".

I can't remember doing a hobbit quest because I don't want to deliver pies or do something mundane or cute.

I'm glad those quests are in the game as they really flesh out the variety of quests, but I don't play epic fantasy games to deliver the mail to farmer O'Doolittle or dance under a tree for the Mulberry celebration (or whatever). That's for hobbits. B)
I skip quests too.  And I totally agree with you.  I've enjoyed some of the insipid festival quests from time to time, but that's usually a passing thing.  I'd rather be doing something else like finishing another 'kill 200' achievement.  (Okay, I'm a completionist).

Delivering pies and mails is part of some tasks... So if you are completionist you should do them (for tasks and for titles).
I'm not a complete completionist, though.  I do everything on select characters.  Some alts are occasionally there just to do specific things.

Logic, my dear, merely enables one to be wrong with great authority.

You can do dungeons for achieves and stuff. I just ran through Barrow Downs instances solo. My LM is 102 and I set the instances to 50. I can run them a lot higher but I'm not after the rewards. I'm just unlocking or progressing deeds. In this case, I had never unlocked Barrow Downs Instance achieves.

After some familiarity, it's easy to know what levels to set instanced content to or what mobs I can and can't fight. So if I want to see an old instance and no one wants to do it then I can. But on Crickhollow if you just say, "Hey, I've never run Barrow Downs and I'd like to do a slow run but need help." I'm pretty sure you won't have to wait very long depending on the time and day.

Since you can set the instance to whatever level just find people in your range and run the instances. There are some non-scaling instances though.
hmmm, I didn't realize they added that feature to all the dungeons!

Wow.... 33 quests scattered under 22 sections of the game
(I too prefer the methodical approach and clear the log as I move onwards)

I love what SSG is doing and I'll continue to keep my VIP sub active as long as they continue to support the game.

I may not like some of the changes that have been made over the years(mostly Turbine's doing) but I still love this MMO and for it's age it still looks great.

The changes are fantastic. I find the game looks a lot better when moving around than in screenshots as well.

I have been playing LOTRO since release and I would like to see an two things added to LOTRO: Magical rings and class customization. As Gandalf said to Bilbo, "There are many magical rings in this world Bilbo, and none of them should be taken lightly!" Crafters should be able to forge their own Legendary magical rings, one slotted ring per player, and the rings should give one new power with one negative aspect. For example, a ring should give the player the power to heal himself or group, but also add dread to the player while he is wearing it, or some other negative effect.

Second,There should also be a way to make your character's class more unique. The current tree system doesn't do enough to make your Loremaster any different than someone else's Loremaster. The magical rings would help that, but maybe the power trees should be drastically different, with power upgrades similar to Elder Scrolls Online.

I think including magical rings and more class customization will bring back players like myself and bring newer players to the game. I unsubscribed to the game because there isn't enough to keep me playing. I know these two things will probably never be added to the game, but one can always hope.
