I'm still waiting for the update that fixes the fact that the game is a shallow time sink with equally as generic systems layered on top of each other to make it look like it's a fulfilling or robust experience. In reality the focus is on PvP that is gear dependent or spending hours upon hours grinding on groups of monsters.

"decrease the stress adventurers receive in the beginning stages of leveling up"

I can recommend some sanctuaries if playing the game is getting too much for the players.

I was wondering if they were going to address the enchanting system. I have no issues with them keeping things rare but the current system is just not fun. Or even just sustainable. It's just annoying.

Does anyone know if they are planning on updating the UI at anytime? The UI in my opinion is one of the worst there is and this is supposed to be a AAA game. It's honestly one of the main reasons I don't play anymore.

I find this letter quite hypocritical and it's just something to try to improve player retention.
PA/Kakao been in the comfort zone since release and will stay there until their numbers start to take a nose dive.

The weight limit adjustment mentioned are for Balenos and Calpheon areas (starter zones) according to their letter.

    https://community.blackdesertonline.com/index.php?threads/news-from-the-other-side-of-the-world-2.162340/

Once players reach Mediah things go back to normal and given how fast that happens these days, it won't take long for the weight limit shop icon to pop up to greet players.

As for the enhanced drops... would be better if they looked at the enhancement system instead.

It takes ~15 hours of non-stop mind-numbing monotonous mobs farm (average) to get a basic Basilisk belt (if you have "not-p2w" T4 pets, multiple maids, inventory, weight upgrades).

DUO version will take an eternity.

The change that would get me to go back to BDO is, to me, an issue they never really addressed and I'm guessing they never will:  the texture pop-in.  I'm sorry, but it is the most jarring, irritating aspect of perhaps any MMO I've played, at least in terms of graphics.  I've seen lots of excuses from white knights, but never anything concrete on why this game, which is otherwise gorgeous beyond most others, suffers from an issue like this.  I get that it's open world without loading screens, but brother, I sure would have rather seen loading screens than watch plants change shape as I run past them.  It turned me off immediately - and no, it's not my rig that causes the trouble.

I stopped playing this game because of the multiple reasons posted above.  If you are really into grinding, this is your game, otherwise there are a lot better MMO's out there.

Since I"m really into grinding (I find it fun and relaxing) this IS my game.

The world is beautiful and for the most part, the avatars are excellent.

I just want the enchanting system to be a bit different.

In truth no one should be playing this game unless they prefer the whole "camp an area/grind mobs" type of game play.

This game is divisive. Anyone coming from a more them-park game, such as World of Warcraft or Star Wars the Old Republic and looking for the same will probably hate it.

Literally this. The rest of the game feels fine, when I work up the stomach to play again. But a few days in, trying to deal with the enchantment system, I just can't continue.

For me, at least, that is the biggest thing that needs to change. The enchantment system needs to be changed. To what, I don't know. But it's current state is horrible, and I know very few people who like it.

While accessory enhancing may be sustainable to a degree for siege guilds, it isn't for just about everyone else.

There is also the issue of the boss gear not being equal. Urugons crushes muskans, there simply is no contest and personally I find it is something that needs addressed. Urugons is the most OP item in the game right, it is an absolute must have.
I no longer enchant. I started adding up how much I was spending and it wasn't worth it. I realize that it's probably easier for people who play "24/7" but since I don't my influx of all the needed enchanting things isn't continuous.

And managing failstacks between characters? "F" that.

    I just buy my items.

The biggest pain in the ass with this game is the UI is convoluted hell to deal with.

If they made a more intuitive or user friendly UI.. I'd play the hell out of this game, with all it's other issues.

    From their letter:

"... We also understand that we must step out of our comfort zone in order to usher in changes."

And like i said above, they never left their comfort zone for the past 2 years and somehow want to give the impression they are reaching out to their playerbase main concerns - they are out of touch with their playerbase here in the west.

With the new accessory drops, it tells me they probably have no plans to work on the current enhancement system, atleast the PC version.

I think you are attributing "information" that's not there.

They very well might be stepping out of their comfort zone and the changes they are making now as well as some planned changes are in line with that "discomfort".

What you are doing is saying "in my mind these are the things that they must do in order to step out of their comfort zone".

I'm not saying that they are doing enough, and clearly you don't think they are doing enough but that doesn't mean that they don't think they are doing enough. They could be wrong but they very well might think this is a big deal.

Of course, it's my own opinion being portrayed here and yes, i think they are not doing enough for a 2 year old game and i'm not alone thinking that. They made some changes to the game since then but those were small almost QoL changes without addressing core issues (powercreep, PvP/node wars, enhancing,..) present for a long time, not to mention those exposed by players themselves (gear hidden stats, node investment).

Their comfort zone could be missing out on selling weight limits early in the game but they probably have the data telling them the numbers of weight sales or players who stop playing at those early stages. They probably also have the data of sales on Shop tents, pet lockboxes, artisan memory or VP's which means their comfort zone remains profitable without addressing the elephant(s) in the room.

Just another day in MMO drama.

    Lineage 2 Enchanting system? Luxury!

This is so much worse than the Lineage 2 enchanting system.

I don't know, Lineage had a good enchanting system if you had Blessed enchant scrolls but the normal system of anything after +4 broke and went away was pretty damn awful. I think the highest I got was +8 without blessed and I accidentally pushed enchant again and it busted and I quit for a while after that.

Well, that was the thing. I would always get blessed enchant scrolls. Problem solved.

Black Desert has a similar thing with Cron stones but they are VERY expensive.

I should add, whenever I do something I always have to be comfortable and accepting of the "downside" (in games and in life).

If I'm not comfortable with, in the case of a video game, the downside of enchanting an item, I don't do it.

If there is a way around blowing up my item I always take it.

I just tried this again since..OB I guess, as I wanted to see the differences between Bless ( been playing it on Japan in the past 2 days ) and Black Desert.

Now .. who the fuck was in charge with the UI??? Worst UI ever, with no information as to how to change things , hide them, etc. Plus, you can barely read chat.

This game is like you really invest time in all this shit to learn it and live with them, or you just /quit it.

Only good thing about Black Desert is fighting. Anything else is just a mess thrown in-game.
