Crowfall has some mighty lofty goals for itself. The new MMORPG being made in Austin and helmed by Todd Coleman and Gordon Walton seeks to make the sandbox MMO something great again. And they've enlisted the help of some serious talent to do so: namely Thomas "Blixtev" Blair and Raph Koster. Today, we learn all about Blixtev's design for the crafting in Crowfall to build upon the near perfection that was Star Wars Galaxies.

    Sounds like this guy didn't understand what it was that made SWG's crafting system great... Primarily, it was that the resources themselves had different qualities, eg. not all aluminum was good at what you were trying to make. So a large portion of the time was spend locating prized resource nodes that you could then make "the best" version of whatever it was that used them. Without stats on your resources you're severely limited. Even if you can vary the metal or alloy used, there are only so many metals and alloys.

    Sounds pretty cool, but I can't tell from this if I have to create 10,000 shit items that no one wants, wasting resources along the way, like every other MMO with crafting, to be able to create something actually useful.

    crowfall at this best.. play the sheeps with text like starwars galaxy or UO.. and people get a boner..

    While in reality this game offers nothing new.. and will be another wildstar flop
