How is siege in mortal online?

some people saying siege and raids are boring because it is done only when enemy pisses of them its not like raiding in other games like wurm online rust where we do it for loot and fun so is that true?  and they also got 24 hours loot timer so you wont get much loot as enemy can login before 24 hours and take all the stuff

TIL mortal online is still running. I'd ask on their official forums honestly.

Mortal Online sieges can happen anytime as there are no set times for sieging. basically the enemy force shows up and starts throwing boulders at your structures whenever they want.

however, there is usually a few days of sieging preparation that most guild will do. this includes running boulder to a convenient location close to the target, and logging them off on "boulder holder" characters. this is done so they don't have to transport them during the siege itself, and they can focus all their players on defending the catapults instead. it also makes the siege a lot quicker if you don't have to wait for boulders to be transported to your catapults. this strategic preparation (often done in secret), and the practice of waiting until the defensive force is at it's lowest online presence (US guilds usually all offline at 3am PST time, EU guilds usually opposite to that) is called "ninja sieging". if done right, a whole keep can go down in mare hours with very little resistance from the defenders.

it is true that anything that is being stored inside any given structure is not lootable until 24 hours after the structure was demolished. the owner of the structures meanwhile is able to access his stuff during that period. so, if the enemy force is willing to stick around and guard the rubble for 24 hour,s then they can loot it too. but most siege forces don't really bother to stick around.  usually, by the time the siege happens, most defending guilds have transported all their valuables to the safety of the nearby town. only nube guilds store all their gold/mats inside their keep/palisade. even if you are totally clueless and get cought with a lot of wealth inside your keep, you can always load everything on characters and log them off before the keep goes down, effectively hiding all your valuables offline.

having said all this. with the current state of NPC defensive guards that you can purchase and set up on your walls to defend your keep, successful attacks on a keep is as difficult and tedious as ever. mage guards that can aimbot hit you through walls from very far, for 50s through armor, and even if killed respawn endlessly every 2 minutes....... the sieging force has to be incredibly larger to have any chance of success. this has been a big talking point on the forums for many months now.
