WTF? This isn't true at all. It lasts longer because it A. Focusses on strong art design and B. It doesn't have actual reality to compare it too to show it has become dated. Lower expectations is just pure nonsense, these games are more often seen as art, much more critically judged.

It is incredibly difficult to design some meaningfull leg content that would fit a space ship game - simply because it is not a leg game.

It is just huge resource waste....'

This is not a direct copy of WoW terrain, it is recreation using Unreal assets.  You could re-envision any game and make it look better.  Stick some WoW characters untouched in there and see why the terrain in WoW looks the way it does.

Lets not even forget about the overhead such glitz adds to the game... things that you really only look at once.  Where's the ultra realistic head decapitations with blood spatter?  Where's the oozing guts after you eviscerate your your opponent.  The popping blood vessels in the eyes as you strangulate them?  No one is making videos of that.  If you want photorealism, you can't just stop at the backdrop.

Remember, photorealism never adds to the longevity of a game, it dates it.   Stylized lasts longer because people don't have expectations of it.

Well you are trying to reinforce BAD looking models by justifying surrounding them with BAD looking assets and textures.

That is a very poor reason to make Wow look like it does which really turned me off when it released.
"stylized" is such a bull statement,it is again like making an EXCUSE.

if yo uwant to defend poor art work, then you would in case of Wow say it looks ok for low end work but it will NEVER compete with top end work no matter what term you want to attach to it.

I used to use a house in real life to point out the analogy or differences.Stylized would be Brick or wood grain or stucco etc etc. However ALL three can take form in various standards from low grade quality to high grade quality. So you would still achieve your "stylized" looks but nobody is going to defend LQ as being an equal to HQ.

I could even look to TV's,you can have a stylized look be it LCD or Plasma, you can notice the difference however your not going to try and defend a 259 dollar LCD TV and say you like the looks better than that 5k Plasma TV.Even if you did the 5k hardware would be HQ and mere FACT of the numbers would state it DOES in fact look better.
So then if you want to compare two HQ TV's Plasma to LCD,that is fine, both are still of HQ,just don't try and chime in with some BS about your counter top 50 dollar rabbit ears TV.
