Monster Hunter World producer Ryozo Tsujimoto has gone on record to shun the notion that there will be loot boxes in the game or any type of "pay to win" mechanics". According to Tsujimoto, that type of mechanic "creates friction" and detracts from the main idea of the game, namely that it is a cooperative experience.

Still, this guy is a class act and should be rewarded. Same applies to Dauntless. Both games were prime for lootboxes, and both games rejected them. Let's put the rivalry between these two aside and support both.
