Black Desert Online News - If you thought World of Warcraft's 14 years was a major accomplishment, it's nothing compared to the Black Desert Online team's dream of keeping the game going for another 20-30 years! This news was revealed in a new developer diary that lays out some of what you can expect to see coming to the game in the shorter term and throughout 2018.

    Hmm.. hat's a loooong time for a game to run. Even single player games have trouble staying relevant and working on new systems after 10 years.. But I hope so, I do enjoy the game.

    That's overly ambitious lol. If they add decent pve content I'll consider returning again as I love their combat system.

    remove ip block, release on console already, and make console and pc cross play. That alone will add a few extra years of life. Let alone all the improvements and new content it will need.

    The way the game is run/managed today not even 10 years are guaranteed.

    In 20 years gaming will be completely different so no. If they said 5 -10 years would be more realistic but even then I doubt it.

    Because it's an Asian game and for some reason they have no problems mixing in anachronistic bits and bobs.

    Though, it is holiday time so I can sort of see some games loosening up and having things that fit the season.

    "I" wouldn't do that for a game I designed but apparently they find it fun.

    Nah it's already a dead game. It's players are just waiting for the next game to come out that's 1/2 way not garbage for a reason to leave.

    They'll need to remove the constant casino-style "player X won this!" popups for me to consider coming back.

    The combat system is also another turn off for me, but I might could learn to enjoy it.  However, I cannot stomach the "storefront" vibe I got continuously while playing the game.

    You can disable those notifications in game settings.

    You have to check off the boxes for the ones you don't want to see.

    BDO will likely last at least 10 years or so compared to Albion it's got a lot more players, better graphics, and people give copies of the game away for free all the time...

    What kinda sucks is they don't actually give you any costumes for Christmas but make you spend $22 for one although its ugly anyways.

    Although they give away BSA every day makes it a less of a grind fest over time, and if people need the copy of the game for free I've given away 15 copies of the game for free recently just for the hedgehog so the game is pretty much free.

    You have to check off the boxes for the ones you don't want to see.
    I understood how the options worked, it's just that checking or unchecking them didn't actually remove the popups.  Seemed to be a bug with the client from what I read online.

    Make the game for other groups of players instead of just people that love grinding and PvP, and I might come back. Right now it's fun for a month or two and then it gets stale. Also I hate forced PvP.

    If you choose to play a game that has open world pvp it's not "force pvp".

    That's like playing football and saying you hate forced tackling or going to a comedy and saying it has forced laughing.

    Entering a marathon and saying forced running?

    Or playing a game and saying it forces you to "play it".

    when i hear som korena game wone be 20 yers on market i rool on flor in 2 yers max tahy will abond it and put new game so thay can drein agein walets from new munts and clothes from new players who wil agei nthisnk this the new game thay expected rely korean game industry is so greedy if will over floow europ market so ther wil be no spec for europ brands thy do it just to not alow other brnads get on market

    Lolwut? They are so optimistic, not far from psychiatrist client. What is this "game" about? About grind, stupid random and emptiness. Pvp completely sucks, this dogfight has no rights to be called as pvp. World has about 10 points to do something useful (grind, of course), the rest places are useless. Social life? It has not. Not even a glimpse. But it has that terrible random, which one been abandoned by neanderthalensis like completely obsolete 500k years ago from them.
    Wasteland. Beautiful, but wasteland. The Black Desert.

    They wants the game to last 20-30 years? Mwahahahah. It will last until the first good competitor game will be published. 1, maybe 2 years.
