No worse than the outfits many of the ladies here wear during the summer. Hell, just about every women's bathing suit sold today is at least as 'bad'. Hardly anything to get worked up over, really.
I wonder how triggered they get when a Victoria Secret add comes on the tv. We can't have you shooting people in your knickers.
And they're not even running around like their lives depend on it.

It's also sexist against men because of the highly ignored double standard regarding the man bulge not causing any sort of stir, and the amount of feminist rage in play over this is unwarranted. You prudes are revolting.
Well, I was following you up to this point and then you just went off the rails.

Had there actually been a model with "man bulge" it would have gotten the same reaction. No different.

Has nothing to do with feminist rage.

If people don't want to see female genitalia then they certainly don't want to see any bulges.
You're free to disagree, however, I believe you're wrong. Looking back a few years ago, I remember a certain hyped game (DOA Beach Volleyball) being canceled for a western release, of all reasons, because they were wearing BIKINIS. DOA volleyball, no different than previous in the series aside from better graphics, finally managed to hit chords within the feminist movement.

The Japanese producers released a statement announcing that they wouldn't risk a western release because feminist reception statewide could hinder their future ability to export games to the states.

Most (modern age) feminists don't care about how men are depicted. They will only sound the alarms when they feel like women are being objectified in some way. Exposed genitals, or any sort of depiction of realism in the nether regions is absolutely a flag for outrage in this day and age, but it's mainly only brought up as an issue when it involves women.

Some things are civilized and some aren't.
Let me guess - cameltoe in PUBG is not civilized, but killing in this game is civilized.

    Hypocrisy level 90 000.

You mean like shaming people who may not like it or would rather see it out of the game? Goes both ways.
There are double standards at work here though. Male genitalia fully visible in Conan, Rust, and other games? Considered to be hilarious and no one bats an eye. Cameltoe in a video game? Huge controversy.

The incredibly obvious solution is to include a graphics option to show or not show nudity.

I fully advocate fairness in the depiction of mature themes in video games. Leave out the double standards. If you ONLY find the female aspect offensive, then you'll just need to swallow your biased self interest and start advocating for some shrinkage in the men's underwear as well.

Or, find ways to not be so easily offended. For example, read a book or something.

How come men's body parts don't get so emphasized in games?

They should! Except for the ridiculous over-musculature male parts don't get this kind of treatment. Eastern market games are notorious for the unrealistic sexualization of the female characters. I say go ahead and do it to the male characters too. Lets have some kind of equality going on. Give us a slider in character customization for giant cocks, sure why not!

I was really surprised when they got away with giving EDI a camel toe in Mass Effect, no one said a word against it. Something I can do without in games.

Let's be honest here. That was overshadowed by far greater issues. Namely, one of the first big day one dlc controversies, the ending controversy, several fan favorites not appearing as squadmates, the Jersey Shorification of new squadmates, and running animation memes.

Which is so incredibly strange for a manga/anime that uses rape by demon repeatedly and as a major plot device.

I'd be very surprised if it was a woman who made this.

This is the problem, the rot, in video games. Too many little boys who go unchecked. No matter their age.

Again, not an issue, I'm for games that show this if they are a type of game that is based on this type of art design (which sadly means men but tit for tat) but for a game like this I'm surprised it made it into the files.
Honestly I think it has less to do with prepubescent giggling than post modern lack of taste. There is a place for Leisure Suit Larry, not that anyone would survive making such a game in today's society that is both puritanical and awash in pornography. There's just no sense what is  appropriate or attractive any more. It's a Mylie Cyrus world.
Except "lack of taste" has always been a part of the human condition.

Having male genitalia "pointing the way" to brothels in Pompeii (on the building walls and sidwalks), risque chanson in the renaissance and the appearance of decorum on the outside while behaving otherwise behind closed doors in the Victorian era are just a few examples.

Anything that's going on now has gone on before. We're just more publicly acquainted with it because of how media/the internet spreads information.

That vulgarity has always existed is no reason to accept it as commonplace. Men have been waving their junk at women unbidden for as long as there have been men and women. That doesn't make it innocent and unremarkable as so many have recently rediscovered. Some things are civilized and some aren't.
That's not my point. You said it had to do with "postmodern lack of taste" and my point is that this "lack of taste has always been there".

Sure! No one wants to have something thrust into their face or get groped or anything like that, against their will nor should they have to suffer through that.

But It is not a new thing and certainly not post modern or modern or anything along those lines.

The only thing post modern here is the outrage it's causing. We're so prudishly cultured that we seek out things to find sexually offensive. Even if it's not sexual in and of itself. PUBG hasn't expressed anything sexual. Prudes simply have a warped sense of sexuality.

We're gradually moving towards a politically correct world where even "artistic nude drawings" will be classified as explicit pornography. Down the rabbit hole we go.
Again, all this has happened before.

There is nothing new here and you need not think that we are moving towards a permanent Politically correct world any more than the Victorians embraced their own "political correctness" and societal morals even though the truth is that there was always another side to that coin and their own counterculture.

But then, a bit later, and with the help of World War I we had the Belle Epoque era. And then later the 20's. Talk about NOT politically correct. yeah yeah, 40's and 50's. Oh wait, 60's and especially 70's. Etc. In any case, I'm sure there were people all angry with Victorian stuffed shirt morals thinking the world was moving toward moral correctness but then "oh noes" Moulin Rouge!

The pendulum always swings. If you don't look at history then you are really doomed to be forever pissed off.

I get what you're saying. Still, with the matter at hand people generally fall into a mixture of three camps. Want the censor/Don't care/Think it's a silly over reaction.

I don't really care if it's changed, however I do think that this level of negative attention over such a minor thing can only do more harm than good to the gaming industry. When I brought up the DOA Extreme beach volleyball franchise, I did so as an example of how this sort of over sensitivity does have the potential to make real impact on consumer product availability. It also detracts from more meaningful topics of the industry. EG: The way companies are handling micro transactions and loot boxes in games.

This debacle over camel toe isn't productive to the industry. Imo it's quite shameful, and despite the elephant in the room sized double standards all over the place, the people who are throwing fits will ultimately get their way. I'd just prefer it if the "sensitive" camp didn't get their way, because when they do, I think it shows a real vulnerability in the industry here. One that shouldn't even exist, honestly.

The funny thing about this is that this is an average day in Second Life; emphasizing certain parts is actually desirable to create a sense of realism. We are girls buying this stuff, the picture show pants that are popular in SL; they don't show as much of a camel toe, but you could easily find pants that do.

The pants in the photo are obviously showing a wedgie; this is popular in SL. In the end, it's only pixels, yeah, the camel toe was unnecessary, but it's not real. I can't say that I never was caught wearing pants like this in RL, most of the time I am very modest, but I do remember this one time...yeah, anyways.

True and given that there is this recent kerfuffle with "gambling and loot boxes oh my" I could see that inciting talk about the "issues with video games".

Still, if the Hot Coffee Mod didn't destroy gaming I don't think a bit if virtual cloth is going to have any long lasting damage.

I'd venture to say that most women don't want to see those sorts of details depicted on their characters. Maybe it's not the same for most males with regard to their own. I don't know.

While not offended, I find that it's just unnecessary and only there for the titillation factor since it serves no purpose for game play. All I picture in my mind's eye are a bunch of prepubescent boys giggling while looking at it while elbowing their buddy. Silly.

As the Twitter guy said, "rookie mistake".

So you speak for most women now? Or just most women you know? Either way what about the women that dont care, should their option to choose be taken away? What about men who want that in game for whatever reason. Does them having acess to that option detract from the game in anyway. Does it pull you out of your pubg marathons. Do you stop in the middle of a 10 kill game and go. I was enjoying this until i saw my characters cameltoe, o wait i choose to where the pants my character was given for free at creation that cant be deleted.

Who is shaming people who dont want it. They already have options as in PUTTING THE STARTER PANTS ON. No one is forcing you to run around in underwear. You wouldn't stop a free the nipple campaign over someone else getting offended, you wouldnt say the people who dont like it are shamed. What kind of backwards logic is that?
