In my experience thus far in Ascent: Infinite Realm, the new mmo coming from Bluehole Studios, is one of hectic choices and confusion ultimately leading into exaltation. The entirety of our Realm versus Realm experience broke down into two phases: attack and defense. Realm versus Realm combat breaks down into phases, each one on a timer. If you’re the defender, protect your core. Obviously, as an attacker, you’re tasked with destroying that core.

    Agree, I don't get hyped anymore about games that we might never see being released. Once there are 2 days left till launch that's when I'll start hyping :P

    You know, if it was "one or the other" I'd be more interested. Do you want to be steampunk or fantasy?

    Reading about flying airships (sounds awesome) and seeing mages and dragons just doesn't work for me.

    Agreed. One to keep a lazy eye on. If it happens it happens. PPL who get excited now will need to prep there 'where is it... It's vaporware...They're liars' threads ready. If they prep now, all they'll have to do is hit 'post' when the time comes.

    How disappointing. I thought it would be more like you are on deck of a huge ship.

    Checking out the website because the art direction is awesome......saw the class list, it looks gender locked can this be confirmed? If so then I can cross this off the list.

    It's been confirmed that there will be no genderlock. 

    The game is only 60% complete at this time, so it's missing the other genders. Also the Five classes are missing their sub-classes.

    And Mechs and machines and flying "steampunk" blimps.

    Though I am disappointed that one plays a a blimp as opposed to riding one.

    It's not gender locked. :) It'll be close to BDO, with male and female versions of each class.

    Well I prefer if it will be like Black Gold Online. That game had that part right.

    I find the two genres can blend well if done properly. Many of the games in the Final Fantasy series successfully blended Steampunk and Fantasy together. It speaks of the ingenuity of humans in a world where magic still exists. In a world of magic, not everyone is a wizard, and those with magical powers could become tyrants if left unchecked. The "normies" need to find a way to match strength, and that comes from technology. A wizard might not be able to cast a spell if he has a musket ball flying through him.

    So, I’ll be covering this more in my hands on with PVE, but it seems it’s a hybrid. However, I played I could not get tab targeting to work. It could simply have been a bug with my build since a few other journos I spoke to after our hands on said they could get it working just fine.
