Anything Like Mabinogi?

CordenCorden Member UncommonPosts: 68
Kind of weird question, but from the little I know about this game, it sounds like a bit like Mabinogi, but more PvP centric. I really enjoyed Mabinogi back in the day, and I've always wished there were more games like it. It was very social with sandbox elements sprinkled liberally throughout the game, even though it wasn't quite a pure sandbox (such as games like PreCU SWG).

I'm sort of in a bind right now. I've been trying to find a good online game with a solid community (hopefully a solid RP community as well), but it's been challenging. I just recently gone back to WoW out of desperation for a solid MMO, but after several hours with it again, a heavy sigh would probably be the best description of my inital feelings. PreCU SWG and Mabinogi are quite likely (followed by Phantasy Star Online/Universe) the MMOs I had the best time on in my 13 years of online gaming. Do you think there would be any appeal in this game for someone like me? Also, is the PvP any good for someone who would be approaching it somewhat casually?

Thanks

I don't know anything about Mabinogi but can tell you that a casual pvp player probably won't do well.

Unless of course you really hit the life skills activities and buy all of your high end equipment when you can.

You will have to grind quite a bit (it is a grind game after all) because level is also important in pvp.
Like Skyrim? Need more content? Try my Skyrim mod "Godfred's Tomb."

When I heard about life skills, that's actually one of the things that reminded me of Mabinogi (I have no idea how they work in BDO). In Mabinogi, you would level up your life skills to earn ability points, which then could be used to make your character more powerful. Mabinogi also had a system where you could level up endlessly to earn ability points, again, to make your character a bit stronger. Sounds somewhat similar.

I don't know, I'll probably just try enjoy WoW on an RP server. It sounds interesting, but so did the many other MMOs I've tried.

    Thanks for the info.
