playing old amiga games with emulator?

Could anyone give me a quick rundown and perhaps a safe site to play old amiga games. What is a emulator how does it work ?

I would say what a emulator is, is a translation of code, so i assume you use windows. It is a way windows can understand what amiga code means, so it can do what the original code told a computer to do. Look at it like getting some one to translate english to russian. Since computers only work based off of 1 and 0, and it is logic based on that, all code is just translating 1 and 0 into something easier for humans to understand. So at the very core of all code, it is either 1 or 0, if you understand how windows reads 1 and 0, and you understand how amgia reads 1 and 0, you can make windows code to understand how amgia reads 1 and 0, so it can do what the original did. That is why if you run say a nintendo emulator on a pc, it requires more cpu power than the original nintendo did to understand nintendo code.
As far as something on the internet being safe, basically just always look for forums, generally it comes out if something is a horrid program designed to brake your computer. If you have worries about braking copy write law which i don't really care about that, than you would have to research more. I have no idea who holds the copy write law on that, and the reason I wouldn't care about copy write law is because all copy write law is designed to stop people from taking something and claiming it as their own, and trying to either profit from it or lay claim they came up with it. I have no desire to make profit, nor do i have a desire to take some ones stuff and claim it is mine.
So even if it is technically against the law to say have a nintendo emulator, and a bunch of roms you dont own. Just do not tell any one first, and b if they do find out just tell them you use it to teach about how computers read code and that ends that.

hateful, you don't need the hassle with roms if you're in the need of Kyrandia, Westwood made those for DOS as well. I mean, https://www.gog.com/game/legend_of_kyrandia

I had this guy back in the day bragging about his $6000 Apple and F16 Falcon. I payed him a visit and was greeted by a very small B&W screen which left me less than impressed. My $2500 Amiga kicked his $6000 Apples ass as far as F16 Falcon was concerned.
