The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild fans can check out new information about the game's just-announced expansion pass. Gotta love when they cut out junk from the game just to sell as extra. Why do I say that? Cause they announce this junk BEFORE the game releases. After would be more believable.

Well, Hyrule Warriors also had an expansion pass, but it was a case study in how to handle DLC properly. A large base game, plenty of DLC content reasonably bundled together, transparency on the content in the expansion pass, and enough free updates to supplement it.

So far, Nintendo has a pretty good track record on DLC, so, I'd be willing to call them innocent until proven guilty.

    So sick of this crap

I want to see a game company step up and do a pre-launch "future unannounced game + DLC for future unannounced game" coming out in 5-7 years ;)

Hey we cant tell you what it will be, but you can get in NOW for 59.99 + 29.99 DLC!
So, Kickstarter without titles or artwork?

Most DLC I wait until it goes on sale, so many games to play these days, there is just no reason to pay up front.

Guys calm down, They are just letting us gamers know that they plan on updating the game with content, woot.

yep, most other devs noticed how dumb this system is by now, and nintendo noticed they never sold one of their games to people before, and made em pay for expansions before they were released :)

Nintendo needs a new marketing team...they completely mis-market (by non-marketing, basically) the Wii-U and now they pull a marketing no-no by announcing DLC before a game is even out which basically is just asking to be called out on it with speculation it is content they cut from the game to sell to gamers later... what a bunch of clueless amateurs.

Yet another reason to never, ever buy the Nintendo Switch.
Too bad. I couldn't care less about a Zelda title, with or without DLC, but I would gladly buy two Switches for Fire Emblem Warriors.

Oh look yet another gaming company treating gamers like chumps.

Selling 'hard'-mode as a DLC, now i've seen it all.
http://neocron-game.com/ - now totally F2P no cash-shops or micro transactions at all.

I'm surprised they didn't charged more really.

Add a DLC that lets you play as Zelda and I might be interested.  This planned DLC is just... frills.
  • PhryPhry Member LegendaryPosts: 11,004
Why pay up front for DLC that you may have zero interest in getting, bit of a mugs game imo O.o
