I agree except NOT like Wow because being lead on a leash via markers on maps and yellow markers over npc heads is NOT discovering, that is hand holding. I not only want visual discovery,i want the entire game to be discovered, everything from crafting to how things work,i absolutely detest hand holding in my games. Hand holding/markers is the most is the absolute best way to ruin immersion which is what ev1 should expect from their mmorpg.
When i load up BDO and see arrows directing me,i am OUT,when i see location markers on maps i am OUT. Discovery is when YOU actually make the discovery,if it is already marked on a map,it is no longer a discovery is it.I would also like to see the term not used in such a loose fashion like it is. Example games offering some disco reward for simply stepping on a new piece of land is just dumb, especially since you could literally walk 10 steps from your last location and BAM DISCO!!.
If a developer is going to use this idea, then create an auto generating system where by a ncp leads you on a disco quest but randomly changes so as to eliminate WIKI guides and leads you somewhere far away so your not taking 2 steps and rewarded. One step further is i would say the player has to complete the trek in one swoop,he cannot die and he cannot return home until the disco is finished otherwise he loses that chance forever.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

Because i rareley use my mount , turn off names , and turn off the mob markers(red dots).....................on the radar, Makes for some great Exploration and danger
