Not being able to see 5 feet away from my character killed it for me. People popping into my screen, grass popping, trees popping. That and the endless monster grind that posed no challenge at all. I've given up on new mmo's and went back to play Mortal Online.
My favorite is huge horse-drawn carriages popping into view just in time to run over you, then disappearing again once they're more than 10 feet past you.

yea,, BDO requires a bit more intelligence to play it, so i understand if it wasnt for you.
Anyways, that aside, I'm glad you are enjoying it. I do like seeing posts here where people are praising a game rather than bashing it. I tried it, but like another poster said, I got tired of seeing things popping in and out of my screen when I would finally get within 5 ft of it.
That has to do with your computer and/or game settings.
Wrong.  I can't believe people are still perpetuating this apologist lie that "it's your system or game settings".

The short draw-distance is hard-coded into the game by the developers, in order to allow them to have a highly detailed open world. This has been stated by the devs themselves. This has been known for far too long to still be pretending otherwise.

I can run the game on maximum settings, everything at peak with very playable performance, and traveling through the world is like watching pop-corn popping on my screen, with stuff popping in mere feet from me; my favorite example being the massive horse-drawn carts from my previous post.

Edit: Clicking 'lol' as a response is not an argument.

Funny thing is I was in BladeBoques's guild (the guy that made the videos you watched, OP).  The guy is a freaking machine.  He's really into all the crafting and side-systems and has no problem grinding whatever 24/7 for weeks on end.  If you're that kind of person, I can see BDO being perfect.

You can say that again.  I have often wondered what his real life was like when he spends so much time meticulously playing BDO.  Did you see his video for maximizing your energy and uses a timer to be sure he is in his bed every three minutes to get the extra tick of energy?  That guy plays the game like his life depends on it!

OP, glad you gave it another try.  I'm in a lifeskill guild and my goal is just to see how much money I can amass by the end of 2017.  I love not being pressured to buy things or having to log in all the time to pay taxes on my house.
"Sean (Murray) saying MP will be in the game is not remotely close to evidence that at the point of purchase people thought there was MP in the game."  - SEANMCAD

Aye, BDO changed my view on MMO's. It opened my eyes to what most MMOs have/are becoming these days - antisocial.

Never played a game where I was surrounded by so many people but heard fuck-all over any of the public, global or local chat channels. Everyone in that games joins up with their tiny groups of friends and then proceeds to ignore every single player around them.

Seriously, if that's your play-style, log out and play ARK on a 64 person server and save the games with 1,000+ person servers for people that actually give a shit about the social element to gaming. Remember hanging out in a cantina in SWG? Or what about teaming up with a Bard in DAoC because you needed to get somewhere fast? Don't look for any of that interaction in BDO!

Played BDO for about month. And more i played more i understand that this game is "casino" as it is. All stuff what happend to me was random things. "Oh i kill the boss for a 30 times and got nothing" - "Its okay" i said, its all random. "Oh i taimed horse 20 times and all i got highest 3-d grade" - "Its okay" i said, its all random. "Oh i have enough money to buy boss equipment. Why i should waste my time and kill bosses while i can just buy it...But stop - why i just cant buy this item from auction for 10-nd time in a row while i pressing "Buy" button?" - "Because its FCKING RANDOM even if you want to buy something from auction!" This game was fun until i made a bit of progression and understood game looting mechanics. Now for me its hillarious piece of crap and i surely know i will never back to this game anymore.

I have no idea why people make threads like this. Might as well title the thread, "I finally found a game that I like, kill the dream for me, please."

Shouldn't you be off playing BDO instead of seeking approval on forums?
You know why i make thread like this, its because i think its important to share my thoughts with other people who are into the same things i am, in this case its gaming.. We are all gamers here, and should look out for one another IMO. If i find a game i think is awesome, i tell my friends.. simple... Forums are often over-run by small D*ck trolls that feel the need to hate on everyone they see because they dont have the confidence to do it IRL..i think its cool when people share their gaming experience ,especially a positive one,,i dont expect everyone to like the games i do, thats cool. This is a LFgame forum, i visit often when im in need of a decent game or some info on a possible good game, so id hope others would post interesting info about games maybe i havent researched enough yet... So go cry in a corner and have fun playing WoW.
