I just lost my drive a week or two before 7.1 dropped, I just can't get back into it. A lot of it has to do with all my friends are gone. The game just isn't solo person friendly if you like dungeon content, pugging has never been harder and by that I mean actually getting a group, it has become so time consuming.
If you're looking to run Mythic+ dungeons, then yes pugging can suck. That's much more geared towards organized groups.
Just finding groups for regular mythic is a chore, I can spend all night and never get a group. It just gets old. I'm also over not flying, I just don't care for Legions terrain.
What?! Spending all night and never get a group? Then there is something wrong with .. you i guess! I think you have low ilevel , so .. just do the heroics and LFR which should get you a group pretty fast and once your ilevel is around 840 or so , then you will get into mythic and beyond !

That's pretty unfair. Legion has created this subgroup of elitist players that excludes certain classes, players who don't have a specific iLevel, players without X-achievement, etc. It is the worst I have seen in a long, long time.

In many ways, the community for group-oriented content has gotten quite toxic. Try entering a Normal and above raid group as a, oh I don't know, Blood DK or Brewmaster Monk tank or as an Elemental Shaman or any spec of Hunter.

Joining a guild is an option, of course, but not everyone actually wants to do that. *waits for the obligatory "then you only have yourself to blame" proclamation*

How can you speak about the content, or claimed lack thereof, if you haven't even experienced any of it. Do you also give reviews for restaurants that you never ate at?
I did not give a "review".
I stated that there is not much to do in Legion. I came to this conclusion by talking to alot of people who play or have played it, reading the forums, articles etc. I don't take grind and repetition as "content".

You can now argue that i should rather experience Legion first hand and you may be right with that.
But then, everybody always recommends to wait out the initial rush, read the forums, listen to other's opinions, collect some facts etc. etc. and not jump head first into something. This is what i'm doing atm.

Who is right now? I guess that this is not an actual matter of "who is right", but a matter of personal choice.

Your restaurant analogy is actually a good example: I have never been visiting a certain local restaurant in my area myself. Yet i know that they don't really have much on the menu card and you can only chose between a few things.
How can i say that when i haven't even been there myself? I guess that does not really need an explanation.

    IceAge said:

Volgore, you are an old member here and I though at least you *could* have a bit of common sense, yet , I was wrong! You can't speak about a game , if you didn't play it.

But 90% from the haters in here, are in the same boat as Volgore! Speaking about a game and his content , while they have no idea about it, since they didn't even bought/play the game!

Well then, carry on with the hate I suppose :)

Easy on me, i'm not a "hater". I don't like alot of things Blizzard did to WoW in general, but i still love the game. I've literally had YEARS of the most fun and best entertainment in WoW. I always keep it installed and updated and log in now and then, visiting some places when i have a moment of nostalgia.

But that is also what leaves me concerned when i'm looking at expansions like WoD or Legion. I don't really like the direction WoW took with both of these.
Not liking is not really hating. My kind of not liking is rather "waiting for Blizzard to flip a switch so that i will love it again".

same here ....i will log in tomorrow to re-run Karazhan and thats all i will do i think :/ , was interested in the raid but after 2 guilds failures ....kinda tired of it , killed some bosses on Hcs and meh

WQ are already pointless , farming artifact points is a grind ....and Surarmar quest line is gated , 2 quests a week.....Illidan quest is behind a 80 item grind (drops from final bosses of dungeons with a % chance...) and 10 cap / week....2 months of grind to continue the Illidan story? thanks but no thanks.

Legion quickly lost it's appeal for me. It gives the illusion of choice, but there really is no choice. You can start with any legion zone... but you still have to do all the zones. So regardless of what order you do them in, every toon that comes up through legion must do every zone to progress.

You must do dungeons for literally everything. There is no choice. You get gated by dungeons in everything, including professions. Again, you have no choice.

World quests were novel at first, but after a couple weeks of doing them, they become non-engaging content.

Overall, I'm not terribly impressed with Legion and hope they don't plan on similar design decisions for future content.

I played Legion and have to say I liked the last two a lot more (what was released thus far). Everyone has their own criteria in what is a good game for their own tastes. It's not that I gave up on WOW forever or even this expansion but I didn't find enough to keep me there for over a month. I even tried the European server to try something different. WOW has tons of stuff to do but people come back not only for the features but how the immersion grabs them (could be story could be something else in the environment), how they feel about the challenge of competition (or gameplay) and the quality of the community. For me I love the game but not enough. The immersion, competition, and community have gone downhill on a comparative basis.

With every game, if you don't have the necessary gear, then you can't do X content. I find that pretty understandable. I mean, you cannot ask as a lvl 20 , to do lvl 30 content, right?  Same here! That's why there are lower content to do , in this case normal and heroics , to be able to advance to mythic and higher. I mean, one cannot just hit lvl 110 and after several days , hey , let's give him mythics to do ! Level gear is there for a reason.

Of course if I create a group and if a low gear level asks to join I will decline him/her. Why? It will ruin the run! It's simple! Play the game, and you will eventually get there. It's not like there is no content once you hit lvl 110 then mythic . There is normal , heroic dungeons, there is Looking for Raid , World Quests, Order Hall , all those will help you get to mythical.

While some classes ( and I agree with you ) are less "tasty" , then others, I still see Elemental Shamans and Blood DK's here and there in Raid's and Mythic+. Now that you said it , yea , where the hell are the Brewmaster Monks? :)

If you don't join a guild for the (very) end game, then .. yeah! I believe you can do fine until mythical and that's it! Actually, this is what I like about WoW now! The game is going into the "group content" . For far to long Wow was a single player game with some multiplayer options. It's time to shine again! Keep in mind that pre and after BC , Wow was exactly like this, group oriented game. It did fine back then and it will do fine today too !

Not anymore. They changed it so that once you hit friendly with all reps and unlock world quests on one character, your alts don't need to reach friendly with all reps. They can jump right into WQ's after hitting 110.

I don't know why, but I feel like this expansion will have even less content that WoD in the end. Blizzard is showing that they are almost out of ideas actual content wise (maybe not story wise).
Are you playing the game? Because based on your statement , you clearly have no idea about what can you do in Legion.

I started fresh almost 2 months ago and since then, I have ilvl 860 and I still have plenty things to do daily! I play every day for at least 6-7 ( yesterday 10 .... ) hours so, based on that, for an avarage player which play say ... 2-3-4 hours a day , it will take them around 4-6 months to complete what i've achieved. And that is a lot with the current content! Now , if a game can keep you interested for around 6 months , then that's a good game ! If they will keep throwing patches with content here and there, then that's even better!

They are out of ideas to create content? That's why almost all who plays Legion says is the best expansion since BC and that after at least 2 months since launch! I think this says a lot!

They added some features from Diablo 3 which works awesome with WoW. Yes , it's not "new ideas" , but its something which work, and that I really like about Blizzard, making a game/content which actually makes players happy and not trying to reinvent the wheel , which in most cases , can be a big fail !

Right, running instances ad infinitum.  I don't think there is an expansion with less content than this one.  Personally view this expansion as the worst of any of them.  They basically killed the game for many long time Wow players.  If you are happy with legion you are one of the few.

    lol, your crazy.
I would love for you to show me where everyone hates legion. From everything I have heard up until now most are praising this expansion critics and players alike....
Well I am in a large guild and we have lost more than half our members already.   If that isn't showing dissatisfaction with this expansion, then I guess I am missing something.

In the last expansion we would maybe run one instance a day, in this one I was having to run 10.  When you hit 110, all the npcs suddenly are wearing 820+ gear,  so just to compete you have to gear up to that and that entails lots of instance runs.   Don't get me started on crafting which I love to do, high requirements for each item and limited resources makes crafting a real chore.

This expansion was not thought through very well, it is a true grinder in the worst way.

Don t agree in the least. Our guild is still growing, always something to do, and this elitist comments that SB said is pure bs, I on a BM hunter never have issues on mythic +. I think people are just expecting miracles on any MMO now. WoW at least is fun and has a lot to do. Grinder in the worst way is laughable if you played anything back in the day. People just expect things to be handed to them nowadays is the real problem.

I like Legion, but I created a warlock and it seems like the worst decision ever made. My damage ramp up is super long, and the class isn't very mobile friendly either. Literally every fight you need mobility it seems....

And i get denied for mythic+ all the time just based on my class.

WoW combat still sucks and feels soo old, unless maybe you're playing DH. I think I am going to jump ship to Revelation and hope the PvE is exciting and not "here is your rotation, don't stand in fire, and do the stupid scripted event like shine a light or rotate a mirror"
Now Playing: Bless / Summoners War
Looking forward to: Crowfall / Lost Ark / Black Desert Mobile

Why do you surmise that there's something wrong with Aori just because he can't get into a Mythic dungeon? I'm in a similar situation with Aori myself. My main has his own guild bank and therefore cannot join an active guild. I have tried around 20 times to get into mythic dungeons (with low keys) and have been rejected on each occasion (and still haven't stepped into one).

My ilvl is 853 and I've done most heroics dungeons and normal raids so far in Legion. My questlog is about a third full of mythic quests to complete which I've been unable to do. Currently, I'm a more casual player who prefers to do my own thing at my own pace. However, I feel that If you're not part of a guild, mythics can be extremely harder to break into. Maybe after your first one it gets easier...I don't know.

I'm not complaining about this as it's my choice not to be in a guild at the moment. Doesn't mean that there's something wrong with me or anyone else that haven't run a Mythic dungeon though.

Well , one of the issues in today's MMO is that people hardly communicate anymore! Another ones ( in "relationship" with the first ) is that people don't make friends anymore ( in-game ) . Well , there are cases of course , but the majority ( you too it seems) plays a MMO ( Massive Multiplayer Online ) as a single player game.

Nothing against it, as each plays as he likes, but at the very beginning ( and at the end ) , this is a MMO.

Do you want to know what I do ? After every run, if some player from my party was OK , I add him in my friend list. I have well over 20+ "friends", which .. from time to time, I PM them and ask them if they want to run X dungeon and in most cases, their answer is "sure, why not" !

Maybe you should try that too!

    I will not be smartass.

You start your group for mythic. People join, mostly dpsers first. Then tank and healer will come. It quite fascinating really because other dps see that there are 2 spots left so they will flood your party with pending for approval. You can pick and choose whatever you want. Then, when healer or tank see this group it will be "hey they got all dps, now only me and other guy".

If you really spend entire night and dont find ANY people then maybe server is dead? It sucks, that why i rerolled on most populated server on EU.

It's funny how lately every WoW expansion went from very positive to garbage. I think most of it has to do with the fact that WoW just isn't good enough compared to other MMOs, hell probably not even average nowadays.

What it does say is that Blizzard's marketing is still the best. Over and over again they keep pulling people back, even though the majority leaves very unsatisifed (but they still return every expansion hoping blizzard would do 360 on WoW!).

Legion is indeed very light on the content, just compare it with Wotlk for example, it has 3x-4x less content for a higher price. I guess it's comparable with WoD, and it's likely to stay about there with patch 7.1 bringing almost nothing new. Hell it needs a content heavy 7.2 and 7.3 patch to be comparable with WoD (which is sad).

As for other Themepark options, FFXIV is literally an anime upgrade of WoW, and just way better than current WoW. Then there is ESO, which sometimes hardly feels themepark with all the sandboxy systems in place, however it's been the best MMO on the market since late 2014, and ZOS seems to be producing only high-quality content (a lot of it too).

There are definitively way better alternatives, so stop complaining about WoW with every new expansion. Give your money to others and see what happens. I hate to break it to you but WoW will never be good enough. It's not that Blizzard isn't trying their best, it's just that others are doing a way better job and not clinging to that horrendous ancient engine.

852 enhance Shaman with all 4 major points unlocked, thanks for thinking you know me.

First off servers have little relevance in group creation anymore. Second, yes I would love to join the 30+ other groups of 3 dps looking for tanks and healers. Tanks and healers rarely if ever join a group of 3 dps with no tank or heals.

For a bit more insight, I might find a group easier IF I applied for the ones that have hostile descriptions or titles. Unfortunately most of the LFG groups come off that way, so many of them scream toxic elitism. I just have no desire to be part of that. Maybe the NA community is different than the EU, I have no idea in that regard.

Thing is, I'm not alone in this, I made a topic during WoD about the very same subject. The thread limit was reached and locked. It was a very popular topic and it resonated with a lot of people. Over 600+ thumbs up if I recall correctly. So it isn't as if this is just my issue and it hasn't got any better since WoD.
Sorry but I don't buy it. You're closing the door to every solution people giving you about this issue. So why are you playing mmos if you don't want to socialize even a bit? Why? Go play single player games then. I understand that some people may be toxic and you don't like it. But it was always like this with online games. Even in Guild Wars 2, which is the most casual mmo I've ever played, I constantly group up with elitst sh*ts in fractals etc. It isn't just about WoW. Every damn online game is like this. So in my opinion, you're just making excuses for why are you don't want to play WoW anymore. Of course you can play what ever you like, I don't care. But stop trying to make it look like WoW's fault that you can't join a mythic group. It is all on you. I'm playing retri paladin ffs. It is the least wanted melee dps on pve right now. Aoe damage is amazing but single target dps is not very good without the right items and artifact talents. Even with that I can easily find mythic, mythic+ groups everytime I look for it. And yes I constantly group up with toxic people. But at the same time I met a lot of amazing people too. And every time I meet someone I like I add them to my friendlist. And now if I don't want to group up with pugs I just open my friendlist and ask people. Eventualy I create a group and bam we're ready to go.

In the past people were crying about dungeon and raid finders and why Blizzard implemented them. Now they are doing the opposite. I will never understand people on this forum...

CAT was the last time I played WOW. The panda killed me and my trust in Blizz. Their sub model, tri combat model and the constant gear grind (no skill all gear) is old...they need to get with the times.

Why would you have to run 10 instances a day when WQ gear is generally better than the dungeon gear? My paladin is ilvl 855 and my shaman is 853 and I've gotten more upgrades from WQ's than dungeons. I run 1 or 2 dungeons a day at the most, and only do so when the satchel shows up for the healer call to arms. The limited resources claim doesn't make sense either. You claimed in another thread that you couldn't find enough herbs to make pots and flasks. Meanwhile myself and everyone else were practically tripping over the herbs, making 100's of thousands gold from herbalism/alchemy alone.
