Love MMOs in general but my favourites have got to be SWTOR, WoW and Guild Wars 2.

Guild Wars 1. I haven't felt the social aspect of an MMO since then, and had some great times running dungeons with guildies or PUGs alike. Win or lose, it was a blast! Too bad the sequel didn't wow me, after how long the wait was.

My favourite MMO of all time would be Everquest

EQ had one of the best communities I've participated in.  For the most part the community was mature (except for LOIO chat, the precursor to Barrens chat), helpful, tolerant and understanding.

It's also the memories the game has given me.  I still remember getting smacked by my first train as a newbie at the orc lift in Kelethin and also the chaos when grouped at the wall in CB when a castle pull went wrong.  Unfortunately no other MMO has produce as many fond memories like EQ.

No other game (outside a PvP environment) has produced the thrill or the awareness of travelling through the game world.  Call me sadistic I even loved trains.

There was no yellow brick road; it was up to you where you wanted to go and what activities you wanted to do in that play session.

Lastly I miss the comradery formed playing in groups.  It was the complete opposite to grouping in more modern MMO's.  No pressure to complete instances, no speed runs. I could leave when I wanted knowingly that in most cases someone would take my place.  People actually talked to each other; were helpful to each other and offered advice and most people were glad to receive it

My favorite MMO is GW1/GW2. The friends I made in GW1 moved with me to GW2 and we are still friends. Beautiful games, enthralling stories and fun events. Lots of memories, especially in GW1, I played that almost from launch. The friendships I've made there will be for a lifetime. Although, GW2 has gotten a bit stagnate as of late, new things are coming and I still login every day. A close second is FFXIV, it's enthralled me almost from day one and some of the people I played GW with are playing with me :) New content is released all the time in FF keeping my interest.

It would be World of Warcraft Vanilla i most liked in the game the leveling where you had to run so much around kill mobs and die a lot and do all that with my best fiends in party/raids :D

Since canceled games weren't excluded, I pick City of Heroes. Why? The community, the fun missions, the abilities, flying through the casino district in the Rogue Isles. I played it nearly every day from opening weekend to closing night I still remember how I felt when NCSoft said it was sundowning it. It broke me. I haven't been able to really get into another MMO the same way since. And not for lack of trying either. I tried Neverwinter, Star Trek Online, Wildstar, even WoW and none of them gave me the same thrill as City of Heroes. When Wildstar goes, I will leave the MMO world behind and play standard games that I'll stop playing when I decide I'm done and not some executive who wants to make himself look good.

My favorite MMO remains Guild Wars 2, even though i don't play it as often as i used too.

The game's graphics are beautifully crafted that pushed my original machine (screenless laptop) to it's limits but still performed much better than many other games i had tried to play around the same time.

i think, however, the biggest reason i'll always hold Guild Wars 2 close to my heart as a favorite is the fact that at launch it took me 3 days to download from 2 different locations...during Hurricane Isaac.

EVE takes first place for me.

There's just so much to do; I love jumping into a game and saying to myself: "so what do I feel like doing today?"  I've made some awesome friends in the game and I've been playing on and off since 2005. How many games keep you coming back for more after that much time? In my experience very few can.

The Secret World has to be my favorite MMO. It just has an amazing Lovecraftian theme that really grabs me. Plus the different types of quests really add something great to the questing system.

My favorite MMO would have to be Meridian 59. It defined the real time interaction of people in a virtual game world. :)

    One Cooking and One Cleaning!"

Lineage 2 - the exploration, freedom, guild system and raiding, sieging. It was incredible walking in with a sense of wonder and joining into bonds for common goals. Ahh nostaglia.

My all time favorite MMO is and will always be City of heroes. It is a flawed masterpiece. One of the first modern games to do away with gear loot. Also one of the few games that did not have appearance progression. (to begin with) instead you could look as cool as you wanted from start. The only progression was your level and your slottable enchantments.

Add in a nice and fairly complex story and some really nice variety in zones, despite it all taking place in a city.

    The game was a gem.

This have been a good conversation

While the "all-time" leading contender is SWG, (damn I miss that game). As of right now, I gotta go with FFXIV as it covers the range features I need to keep myself occupied at the moment! :)

Vanilla Guild Wars, by far. Running missions and quests during the earliest days of this game was the most wonderful experience any mmo has given me- the double class system, combined with the limited number of skills one could have equipped at a time, created a huge amount of possibilities for personal and team-wide combinations and synergies. This made communication and coordination absolutely neccessary, not only in PvP, but in PvE as well, and created memorable friendships and social interactions. The exploration and skill-capturing aspect also added an extra layer of depth, seeing your character progress not in terms of raw power but rather in flexibility and adaptability. Of course, sooner than later this entire dynamic devolved into min/maxing gimmicky meta trains, due to poor balancing. Still it was great while it lasted. Too bad Arenanet had to give all that up with Guild Wars 2, a game whose only common element with its' predeccesor is the name.

I would have to put my vote into Final Fantasy XIV. I was completely blown away by the complexity of the crafting system and actually being able to develop a rotation to craft. In my experience; however, I have found that it not so much the game graphics or its gameplay that makes an MMO great, but really the guild I end up joining and the surrounding community that make me end up staying for a long time. I found the community in FFXIV to be the best I have ever found across any game. So many randoms I have met in dungeon finder have been so helpful and people actually....GASP....talk. I tried gonig back to WoW only to discover that no one even so much as said "Hi" in the beginning of the dungeon. The quiet experience was not for me whatsoever. I'll probably be going back to FFXIV quite soon, but first have to finish moving into my new house.

I think my favorite must be an early one Guild Wars, one of the first ones that had no monthly subscriptions, a great way to get into them at the time it came out.

Guild Wars 2 is currently my favoriate MMO, although, I tend to jump between GW2 and Rift quite a bit. Both games are beautiful to look at. Each has a unique story/Lore that is complex enough to be interesting, but not so much as to get lost and lose interest.
