State of AO?

I played AO when it first came out for a year. I loved the game, way ahead of its time but ohhh sooo buggy. I tried it again when shadowlands came out but it got confusing between the two worlds. The storyline also took a turn for the worse with shadow lands.

Has there been any rumors of an AO2 or ??? This game could've been the best. It had all my favorite components. It just never really delivered. Maybe they will get it better the second time around.
