    I hope the size/scale of the planets will be a lot bigger then what are seen in the screen shots.  Or is that just an asteroid that happens to be orbiting Alpha Centauri II ?

    You couldn't land on the planets in SC.  I don't know if they will change this or not.

    You could in Star Control 2. Which is one of the greatest games ever.

    I had checked this but no info, is there actual multiplayer? This one is interesting either way, so one to follow

    There was a Starflight 3.  They gave it a different name it was called Protostar and you can get it on abandonia.  I would also like to mention a game called Project Nomad which was equally as fun.  Not to be confused with the pc game called project nomads.

    What do you mean?

    If you got into the game It's old school stearing that means ENTER key and arrow keys and ESC, those are the only keys you will and can use in the game.
    So no mouse whatsoever.

    Check this letsplay to get the hang of the game.
    As I sead It's old school so have pen and paper ready to write info down because there is no quest log in game, there are walkthrough online but whats fun in that.

    Paul Reiche III and Fred Ford, the original devs aren't involved and:

     

    The decision to go with a prequel rather than a sequel seems at first an odd choice, but it’s the result of the complexities of the Star Control franchise intellectual property. Even though Stardock has the naming and publishing rights to the Star Control franchise, it does not have the rights to use any of the Star Control aliens or story material in the first two games. All of that remains the property of original Star Control creators Fred Ford and Paul Reiche III. Ars reached out to Ford and Reiche for some elaboration, and Reiche responded with this clarifying statement:

    Fred and I retain the copyright to all material in Star Control I & II, but we do not own the name "Star Control," which is why our open source project is called, "The Ur-Quan Masters." Stardock purchased the trademark for Star Control as well as the original material in Star Control III, which Fred and I also did not create. Super space-cows? What were they thinking?!
