Snail you could really have a winner with Dark And Light. Lets hope that when ever you decide to release video that it impresses.

yeah exactly, it looks to good to be true - and no gameplay one month before release? from a company with their track record? with everything that has happend in the mmo space? why would you only release screenshots before charging a box price? yeah...sounds more and more like fraud to me

I agree completely. They need to put up (vid), or shut up at this point.

I don't think there's fraud here; probably more likely an inferior product.

sure, but lets be real here - in gaming you can get away with a lot more regarding hyping and promissing and claiming with what you would never get away with other consumer products

    I can only agree.

Perhaps they feel that game play footage will negatively affect their "Founder's Pack" sales. All this screenshot hype must be intended to achieve something...

Fast food chains make food look better than what they really are. This is very concerning to have no real gameplay footage for something that was announced so long ago and is expected to go into early access in give or take a month. The longer the wait, the worse it makes it look imo.

    I agree 100%

If MacDonald workers would have been payed more and if food preparation would have had a different approach ,,,,,. Burgers could actually look more like the one in advertisement.

I used to work at something similar but management was not happy with me because I was putting to much effort for each meal ..... What they wanted Quantity over Quality... Faster preparation and faster cashing .

This is how all industries work today even game developers focus on anything else except quality of the game .

The only one who could make a revolutionary MMO is Blizzard and other successful companies with money and big stuff.....but they are businessmen if their outdated shit still sells like hot bread(shit) why change the scheme for something less cash producing.

Snail games is a big company in Asia. They do have the resources, and also experience from previous online games, to compete even against the largest western developers if they decide it's worth it.

Actually I'd like to start seeing Roswell type Aliens in more games.  There's a rich varied lore about different types of alien beings living on and in Earth for centuries.  So let me choose to be an Elf, Orc, Human, Dwarf, Predator, or a Roswell Grey. Why rehash the same races all the time.

years ago i had the idea for a sort of "B movie" themed mmo, would have 50's/60's stylized vehicles/ships, alien races, ray guns...bigfoot, loch ness monster, 'events' like UFO invasions, mad scientists unleashing a huge monster, etc etc. i actually did a bunch of outlining of classes and game world, but as im not a programmer nor wealthy (plus lazy) it stopped there. probably for the best, no one would have played it lol.

Sounds and looks great so far. Could be they're working on animations and interface last which is why they're not showing videos. If they're looking at such intricate systems then I hope they take their time. Been in the oven long enough, why not a little more?

What I'm seeing here is what I see in 90% of RPG's and it's completely and totally unbelievable every time I see it.  There are 90%+ Predator creatures and 10%- Prey creatures.  Ecosystems simply couldn't exist if that were true.  Predator animals have lower birth rates and far less children per mother than Prey animals.

However, every game is the same.  Hundreds of lions, tigers and bears, but only the occasional squirrel or rabbit runs by, and heaven forbid you see an actual herd of Roan Antelope, Addax, Wildebeast or Oryx.

I would assume that this is because devs think people would rather kill large predators. Unless the game has a realistic ecosystem, or needs small animals for crafting materials small prey animals get ignored.

I agree, and I understand that the mentality of modern MMO's is "Walk ten feet, kill some creature, walk another teen feet, kill another creature".  However, I really wish that it was 90% herds of wild herbivores and other non-predatory animals and when you're walking along admiring the beautiful world and a Bear roars nearby, then it's truly terrifying.

Also, I've had a Red Stag charge a Jeep I was in once when we drove by his harem of females.   Then he "roared" a bunch at us as we drove off.  It was pretty badass and majestic honestly.  He also charged a Giraffe that strayed too close and that Giraffe noped the hell off even though he was 5x the size of the stag.  Herbivores are not necessarily sissies when it comes to defending their stuff.

I think GW2 has a good mix of predator/prey types. SWG also.

Actually, the very first teaser trailer of DnL shown a large herd of stampeding herbivore dinosaurs in it around the 40 second mark.

So. Here we are two months from release and we still haven't seen ANY real game-play for this title. I'm a little suspicious that this will be a DnL 2.0 flop

Won't touch it without in game reviews at this point.  I'm sure they're working on it.

At this point they've just been releasing Interviews and Wishlists.   Which is troubling since there is like a month and half left in Fall.
