This COULD be enough to get me to come back and sub again (not that I feel the game isn't good, just other games are currently more attractive to me)!  Awesome, indeed.

I'd spend 80% of my ingame time in this.

    And then 20% cooking :)

    Nice! Can't wait.

I wonder how much they will cost.

According to the reddit thread you can buy and upgrade through in game gold and crafting. However, before we go too far people should expect that houses, items, upgrades, and stuff in the cash shop and loot boxes (when they add them) too. Maybe they won't do that, but I think it's a realistic expectation to set, or at least not be shocked when that detail emerges.

Note, that's my own speculation. I'm not an insider and I'm not connected to ZoS.
Sounds fine to me. Loot boxes, FTW! *ducks*

I just want to use my house for extra storage like I do in LOTRO.

Haven't played LOTRO in a long time. Did they finally increase storage in houses? IIRC, storing items in your house was pretty much pointless since you got so little space.

I haven't spend the crowns I get from subbing. They're just sitting there waiting for this :)

Is this completely instanced of a la LoTRO, or is it more like how BDO does housing?

It's like EQ2 which is instanced, this game couldn't support open world housing lol.

Never played EQ2. In Black Desert Online the interior of the house is instanced but the actual houses are part of the game world, not instanced of entirely. You can buy and live in a house in the major cities if you wanted.

EQ2 houses are in the cities, at the start of the game everyone is given a room at the inns. This is your first house or flat that you can decorate.

EQ2 housing is the best instanced housing system IMO, ESO would take years to even come close. The customization is mind boggling.

Then you have top housing on some of the most well to do area's and streets in the game.

Looks interesting, but nothing they could do could get me to ever install ESO on my computer again.

I'm not an IT Specialist, Game Developer, or Clairvoyant in real life, but like others on here, I play one on the internet.

Cant find anything exciting about it. It will just another instance from existing ingame assets, nothing new - your Altmer house will look exactly the same as every other houses in Altmer styled city. I'm fairly sure it will be just a place where you can put and play with decorations and that's all, nothing like Wildstar or BDO.

Cooking in ESO is just press one button - so your going to stand for hours and press that button?

Somewhat surprised tbh. I expected Housing to form part of a DLC - with various quests to unlock houses in different cities. That said this type of housing - buildings in cities - could be considered normal. Maybe there will be a player driven settlement DLC.

@Immodium Yes like BDO the exterior of the house will be part of the game world the interior will be instanced. Like a bank in ESO say.

@Balticthunder Yes a house in an Altemer styled city will be Altemer styled. We currently have no idea what we will - or won't - be able to do inside a house though. BDO, Wildstar, EQ2, LotR - we have no idea. The ESO devs will know what those and other games offer however.

@BillMurphy A garden - and a livestock pen - would be in keeping with Skyrim so who knows; maybe an attached barn.

I just wish that their housing is going to be more interesting than their combat system. If players are only be able to change table and door and couple chairs then no thanks, but if its going to be bit more in-depth and customizable with lots of options ,count me in just for the housing fun!

So, did ESO have a successful launch? Yes, yes it did.By Ryan Getchell on April 02, 2014.

This is something I would actually come back for. Bit scared to play anything right now.

I am trying to mod out Fallout 3 right now and got a massive headache that lasted two days because I was playing in First Person View during the fights only although I should not and initially it was fine and because it was a mild headache I did not realise it until it just would not go away. Today I had to finally take some painkillers for it to go away. So kind of afraid to play although my modding addiction is taking on obsessive qualities.

I love housing and Everquest 2 had one the most robust systems that allowed so much customization and your imagination was the only limit. If ESO does it similarly where the house appears on the main street and such but the interior is instanced it allows for massive number of items and various axis placement. That would be a wonderful thing for people like me that can spend literally hours decorating. A garden would be heavenly.

If they sell some stuff in the cash shop is also alright by me.

Misspelling of and in there with two n's. While I'm on my way out of ESO after 2.5 years of playing I'd still come back and mess around with housing a bit just because I wanted it for so long.
