And the full loot PVP RPG MMO's days are numbered. More and more players are not willing to waste time getting the resources to make the things to gear up again, and dealing with griefers. Darkfall New Dawn and Darkfall Rise of Agon will fail sooner rather than later as they think full loot = fun from from listening to a very loud minority and don't grasp how the repetitive gear up scenario chips away at the fun factor. It is the age of the MOBA now.
You are talking about a type of MMO that has never gained any popularity in the first place. Why do you think exactly that games like WoW, FFXIV:ARR, GW2, SW:TOR, ESO, etc. have so much more popularity than any MMO that encompasses full loot PVP.
If players of games like Lineage etc. start abandoning their game for LoL, then maybe you can say its the 'age of the MOBA' though honestly, if you were waiting for that, i think your a bit late, MOBA's plateaud long ago, and its likely games like Overwatch are encroaching on MOBA territory, so at this point, MOBA's are most likely in a downward trend.

As a player of Eve since 2004, i don't really put Eve in that bracket, PVP is an aspect of the game, but unlike so many others, there is much much more to the game than just PVP.
as for Runespace, never played, never likely to play, not sure what the demographic is that does play it, but i've heard its quite young

LoL grew from 67M monthly player in 2014 to 100M in 2016 ... does not sound like "plateau-ing" to me, unless you are a conflicting data source.
