    Great game...but it is super time consuming...will be hard for the masses to stay with the game, but after a server merge, the game will last a very long time with a solid player base.  It is not for the casual gamer however.

    So far the servers have been doing well. I've seen quite a few people take off, but also return a few months down the line. That's one of the benefits of a B2P game. Can't say what the future will bring of course.

    I have followed many MMO releases. This is actually pretty good for a buy the box model to last 6 months before a decrease in prices. Usually it's only 3. Only exceptions are the popular titles like WoW that lasted a year or so.

    Get in the door now and It'll only take you six months to catch up with the people playing now and they'll only be another six months ahead of you by then.  Enjoy being six months behind on that non-existent level cap!

    The grind in this game is real.

    The grind in this game is real.
    In all fairness though... the devs do make it easier to catch up on a regular basis. They recently changed the XP values again by quite a bit, making 50-56 a lot easier to get. I got there in a fraction of the time it took the original hardcore grinders to get that level. Sure, they're 58-60 by now, but still...

    The harder thing to catch up on is probably gear. Although they have made that easier through events as well. Giving away shards and blackstones.

    I once heard it was due to how the US handles taxes compared to most of the EU though... I know in my country, taxes are already factored into that 9,99€ while I think Americans pay something atop of that 9,99$ later on.

    It is a good deal yes, considering that other regions are playing that exact same game for free. And that you cannot take it "seriously" as any kind of competitive PvP game because you will be never able to catch up to those playing from day one with levels and gear trumping everything.
