Dude just give it up. This silly discussion has, for some bizarre reason, become personal for you.

I am not continuing to discuss the disparity. I said my piece, I gave some examples when I was countered and then I explained or argued my side when those examples were countered in return. That's how discussions go.

I'm sorry that you don't like my examples and responses to people countering them but you don't get to dictate the criteria of the thread and what should or shouldn't be discussed, nor do you get to decide when the thread gets put to bed.
As I already said, if you don't like what you're reading, don't participate.

Translation - "Dude, you don't get to tell me to shut up OK, now shut up"

Amazing post, nothing relevant to post on the questions? I guess you ran out of negative angles to push huh. At least some of the later posters here seem to understand the truth to the thread here.

Why am I not surprised to see you respond in this manner.

As I already demonstrated on the few figures we have available - the profit is so insane it is totally irrelevant what the going rate is for crew, people on escort duty, docking fees, running costs etc. They could all be charging 100,000 UEC per hour and it still amounts to barely anything.

Anyhow this is all besides the point, it is the disparity that is the only important point here. Clearly there is going to be some disparity but this amount is insane. Also the only people with access to these sort of ships (for the first few months) are those that have bought them with cash.

Now for the hypotheticals: The Hull-E was $550, if that price is "signifcantly increased" assuming 3x, it increases from 550,000 UEC to 1,650,000 UEC and wil take the cocktail sipping, smiling Aurora pilot 275 hours to earn.
In those 275 hours of gameplay your cash shop bought Hull-E owner could earn 4,080,000,000 UEC.
Your assuming that you'll be able to sell unlimited amounts of an item or commodity when that's not going to be the case. The ports will put up orders based on what they need, so for instance, if a port needs say 10 shield generators. The profit per unit could be quite high on these big ticket items. The cargo will fit both the freelancer and the hull E except the hull E still has 90K+ space to fill. It won't make any sense for the hull E to just fly otherwise empty and they can't deliver more than the order is asking for, so they will have to fill up the rest of the cargo space or the trip won't be worthwhile.

More likely there will be commodities that do trade in significantly higher amounts but for less profit per unit. With a full haul the Hull E will definitely be able to make good profit, but it's also going to require more effort and risk to do so, cause a smaller ship will have a much easier time of getting away from hostile ships as well.

Oh and as for the price of ships in game compared to pledge prices, they are still figuring it out but are looking at an exponential cost difference going from an aurora to something like a hull-e. They are targetting the biggest ships at corp use so the cost will reflect that.

Speculative calculations are, imho, not worthwhile at this point.
As a general comment on the original question: as a backer myself I can understand the concern of other players to be disadvantaged if they haven't pledged. But I would consider that it does not hamper your game experience if other players start out ahead, as it makes little difference if you encounter, say, a  Starfarer operated by an NPC or a player.

I know of many backers who even plan to not use their pledge rewards, as they want the game experience to earn their way up to the ships they want, which is after all one of the main motivators in such games.

On a side note: Say about SC what you want, but it certainly sparks emotions no matter what side you are on =)
