imageHands-On With Enderal, Skyrim's Most Impressive Mod - The RPG Files at MMORPG.com

Enderal: The Shards of Order is the biggest and most impressive mod available for Skyrim. Featuring 30-100 hours of gameplay in a total conversion of the Skyrim experience, Enderal is a game built on The Elder Scroll’s back. Complete with its own deep storyline, rich and varied world, reworked skills and abilities, the team that did the same with Neherim in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion has raised the bar yet again. We sent Chris in for a hands-on.

I once made a total conversion of PONG.
I named it PING PONG, it was nothing like the old game...

Enderal looks interesting, was it an easy install? Does it play well with other mods or is it all or nothing? Good read.

Good question! It does not play well, particularly ENB mods. It is best to go into it with a clean install (saves not included -- it archives your original Skyrim installation so you can go back quickly and easily.) Apart from that it's easy as pie.

Enderal looks amazing, but I don't plan on trying it until it is ModOrganizer friendly.

I have to ask....if you "never played a true Total Conversion Mod before" how can you title this as the most impressive mod?

yeah I just started and got my first crash.

But "boy" that beginning. And then the "funny" part was seeing quest text "finished: a nice day in summer". O.o

Most impressive mod for Skyrim. There is nothing else like it.

Yep, these are the guys who made Nehrim, the total conversion mod for Oblivion, which was actually a better game than Oblivion. Calling Nehrim and Enderal a mod isn't even very accurate - they are entire games.

Sometimes Steam is a culprit when it comes to mods.
Are you onto something or just on something?

This is an absolute work of art. They've made just enough tweaks to the core of Skyrim with a brilliantly laid out story and world. I'm already hoping these guys are working on the next instalment! Well done SureAI!!!

But I couldn't play the game until I had bouncing b3wbs and SOS flailing about my screen....

I've been watching this one for awhile. Very excited it's finally here but it will have to wait for a few weeks before I can dive in. Happy to hear it's being well received!
Happily playing Vanilla and BC WoW, again, since September 2016.

It depends on your definition of impressive. I would argue that SkyUI is far more impressive than Enderal - not only does it make the UI a non-clusterfsck, but it also adds the MCM, which a vast number of mods use for their configuration management (including Enderal itself).

I'll be hard pressed to leave my Skyrim setup behind

(this first one is an anime waifu, so don't complain, I warned you what this one is lol. The rest are environmental screenshots)

(and here are the environmental stuff)

And yes, its playable on my PC. Except even vanilla Skyrim I only get 30-35 FPS (that is on a brand new PC install). And heavily modded...I still get 30-35 FPS on average lol. So my awesomly modded setup is the same performance as vanilla Skyrim. Probably all the mod fixes and performance mods. Its cause my CPU is an i5 660, and it is nowhere near good enough to run Skyrim, which is VERY CPU focused. I'm hoping I can upgrade my CPU in December or New Years with the awesome sales that happen then.
