The NDA for The Elder Scrolls Legends has officially dropped, which means we can finally share our thoughts. So far on the site, we’ve had an excellent preview article and video preview from Mike Bitton and TheHiveLeader. We tasked Chris with looking at the game from an RPG player’s perspective and see what the game offers to Elder Scrolls fans who may not be sold on the CCG concept. Or, dare we suggest it, think the game is a Hearthstone clone.

SO far now what going on towards year 3 Blizzard's effort has been extremely POOR.

I said what HS needed from day 1 and so far Blizzard has not delivered on ANY of it.Instead they SELL just enough cards to barely warrant the cost and even cost is HIDDEN because of the RNG factor which in reality is NOT really rng but instead a % that works out to paying MORE than the cards are worth...a LOT more, estimating around 1500% more than it's worth.

Even my fave and imo still by far the best overall design MTG,was big time over priced,so what makes anyone believe THIS rendition will get it right?

They are in the business of "making money"they are NOT in the business of satisfying our gaming pleasures. So what i expect is exactly what everyone else is doing ...the BARE minimum and finding ways to get more money from in this case "cards"VIRTUAL cards ,not REAL cards.

Anyone and yes i remember all too well what happens when for example SOE's tcg went under, they pulled the plug, you lose hundreds...thousands with NOTHING to show.

I do not figure bethesda...Zeni to change a single thing in way it does business behind this game, this site won't mention the TRUTH because it is also in the business of making money.Just wish i could hear people tell the truth for once about games in general and the business side of gaming, instead of these "previews" or so called OTHER person's view like it is some totally unbiased view which it is NOT.

Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

I was part of the Beta. Dropped after a week. Enjoyed the game and it was challenging BUT... reached a certain point and I realized it was going to be just a big money suck. I would play and enjoy the game if I could subscribe for a fee and receive cards that were at least equal to the cards that were bought.

The game looks cool. I might even give it a go and I'm not a fan of the CCG genre.

That said, it's not an RPG. It's a CCG with some RPG-ish elements. You're not going to find RPG in the game. I just disagree with that. It has a narrative driven story campaign built within the CCG framework. That does not an RPG make.

Oh sure. But that exploration was worthwhile with the franchise it's in. Definitely not an RPG by any stretch, but they make a clear effort to hit some of those notes.

Nice review. I know you're covering the RPG angle, but as a Hearthstone player I was wondering what you thought about how it played? Like, was it as fun as Hearthstone?

Yeah, clearly Blizzard really f'ed up by not listening to you. 20 million a month profit in a global multi-platform game played by millions of people daily. If only they listened to this guy that punctuates sentences completely randomly, they surely would've done much better.
