Steelseries has recently rebranded their flagship headset, the H800, as the Siberia 800. We sent Chris in to see just what a set of flagship Steelseries headphones really sounds like. The good news is they're nothing short of amazing. The bad: Chris refuses to take it off, even for family pictures. Read on for the full review!

Hmm... For a gaming headset 20-20Khz is impressive, but it's just an other ...meh.. headphone for me (and immediately the reason I'm not using headsets because of crappy specs).

Once you've used Beyer Dynamic (DT990) or Audio-Technica (ATH-AD500) you know how sound is supposed to be and you don't want to go back to those crappy PC headsets at all anymore.

...all that's left for me is find a good mictrophone ;)

Too rich for my taste when it comes to gaming headsets.

But beyond that it seems like a nice set.

This have been a good conversation

I looked into these some time ago. The biggest issue is the batteries. Due to some regulations in the postal system, it's unlawful to post JUST the lithium ion batteries in the post. The way around it, you may ask? You need to RMA the headset to SteelSeries... so they can post the new batteries back in the headset. I was astounded when I read this. There was a thread on Reddit about it. Needless to say, I didn't get any.

For those in UK, the Royal Mail website lists the sending of lithium ion batteries on their own as prohibited (that's the word I meant - not unlawful

I prefer V-moda's with a mic you can attach to them, they sound great, they have a small profile, and mine have seen much abuse and still work quite well.

If you want a new idea, go read an old book.

In order to be insulted, I must first value your opinion.

I just took a look into the V-moda Crossfade Wireless. They look like a sweet pair of cans!

This is not a sponsored post. Everything glowing is my honest impression :-) And really, at this price, it should be good enough to warrant glowing impressions.

I'm sure it's very nice. But it has multiple pieces. That means I have to read a manual and solve a puzzle. I just want to plug in and go.

EQ1, EQ2, SWG, SWTOR, GW, GW2 CoH, CoV, FFXI, WoW, CO, War,TSW and a slew of free trials and beta tests

I have one. It's a great headset. More wireless headsets should adopt the dual battery
