Ultima X: Odyssey: Guilds

   Another feature has been unveiled for Electronic Art's upcoming MMORPG, Ultima X: Odyssey (UXO). The people at Electronic Arts seem to have created a magnificent guild system which should appeal to any player who wants to create or be in a guild.

   Unlike many MMORPGs out there, there is no cost and no hassle to form a guild. All you need is five players who want to form one, then when at least five have gotten together all it takes is a few clicks and the guild is formed! Later you can choose a guild symbol which is customizable based on many premade symbols which can be altered to match your guild, no two can be alike. The guild symbol costs a little bit of gold, but should eventually be affordable for most guilds.

   There is an extensive guild information system that allows you to fully customize your guild. You can create up to twenty ranks and grant certain privileges to each. Also, you can enter your website URL (if you have one) so the guild can view it. You can even fill out a recruitment section so that players can search for a guild and obtain results based on what a guild puts in this section. PvP within the guild is facilitated by this system by either one-on-one duels or guild wars versus other guilds. Finally, if a leader of a guild decides to stop playing or logging in for thirty days, a new guild leader is chosen based on rank and seniority, so it will never again be a major problem for a guild if the leader has become inactive.
