It's a good game... but I think with the combat style it could have done really well on consoles.
OH jesus christ it's people like you have end up working in game studios and end up fucking a would be great game by porting it to a fucking shitty ass console removing 90% of its features and potiential with a jacked up, shitty fucking UI.
Omg. I'm not playing it ATM, because I'm busy with 3 other games right now. But the excuses most people gave is like they played the first week @ launch and nothing more.
For most people, you only get one chance to impress them. That is true for me as well. I like to wait a few months after a game launches before I try it.
I'm not an IT Specialist, Game Developer, or Clairvoyant in real life, but like others on here, I play one on the internet.
The lack of marketing done by Carbine on this, and the last minute sneak announcement of the Steam launch, has me convinced that they don't care one bit. They're not even trying anymore. They probably already have a shutdown date and they're just squeezing any last bit of cash they can out of it before they do and it's a pretty shitty thing to do to people. I'm predicting end of this year.
The game is polished as hell but plays out kind of like a corny beer commercial WoW may have been cartoony but it possessed a sort of surreal atmosphere that sucked you into a game world you really cared about and made you feel attached to your character.
Wildstar really just feels like Saturday morning cartoons with combat. I really tried to fall in love with this game a number of times because it was so well made. But ultimately it just felt like one corny one liner after another. like that bad comedian you couldn't shut up.
I do hope for the best though because of all the effort and time that was put into this game by the developers,
Still feels as easily forgettable as when I first played it near release. Still love when the guy says stuff when you level though lol. "OH S***! YOU LEVELED UP!"

.... because the games are doing so well on PC.....
Console games always far outsell their PC counterparts. If they want their game to succeed they'll go to console... don't know why you have to get all butthurt about it. Chances are, most of peoples favorites games like Fallout ... GTA V.. Skyrim, Minecraft etc. that people play for countless hours.. way outsell on console.
I think it's hilarious that all the people whining about combat being boring/predictable/unimpressive/too easy in other games are the ones saying that combat in this game sucks. Careful what you wish for, cupcake!
Personally I really enjoy the combat. It's fast, challenging, dynamic, and engaging...everything people claim to want, git gud. The interrupt system in particular is brilliant for encounters. People bitching about a "light show" are lazy and can't be bothered to look at the options menu.
Edit: I only stopped playing because I tried ESO and I really enjoy the freedom/creativity in builds for each class. It's not a perfect system by any means, but there is a lot of flexibility even if you can't just close your eyes and pick skills and win.
I leveled medic to max level but hate that combat system. Almost all abilities are AOE so basically you just spam basic attacks and layer special ones over if you have main resource. In PvP it's especially retarded aoe fest into a group of people.
ncsoft barely screatch a million dollars out of wildstar last quarter, it was their second reported quarterly loss on the game. ncsoft has a known history for canceling games in this condition so fo rthose arguing that this game won't close this year be very careful with your wallet
One thing I find it funny sometimes. Wildstar haves the best free to play model around now. But people have so much hate over it. Is why we can never have nice things:) I know it have it's own problem like most MMO.
I wish I could define and pinpoint why I stopped playing Wildstar. I absolutely loved the beta, was going strong and then it just went dead to me. At that time, there were plenty on the server so I can't blame that.
I was a little annoyed at the difficulty of a normal dungeon, but that didn't kill it for me, i just thought, well I need to be in a good guild that can get coordinated.
It might be the pigeon-hole feel of the character progression. Always the same weapon, and while i kept opening up new skills, I only used the same 6 over and over again.
I don't know, but I wish I did.
The reason why i played it on and off and never really stuck to it was that i could never really connect to the story, factions and character. The game has a very rich lore that is quite accessible while you just play along, but i never really cared too much. I guess it misses the vast scope and epicness other IPs have.

For me it was more a thematic thing, I just couldn't get into the theme, or the humor. It just felt like a bad hybrid between Firefly and Guild Wars 2 to me (sorry for lacking a better example).

You are kidding I hope. Console games make about 10% of PC revenue. Google pic game sales va console.

No, it's the truth... pick a game with releases across both console and PC.. Any of the games I mentioned.. even Minecraft.. DCUO.. the majority of console releases outsell PC .. sometimes in the triples. Lets get some specifics going.
"Microsoft said Thursday that Minecraft has sold more than 106,859,714 copies to date across all platforms—which would represent the twelfth most populous nation in the world, right behind Japan. Four copies have even been sold into Antarctica.
But if you dig into Microsoft’s numbers, they reveal that far, far more users are buyingMinecraft on platforms other than the PC. In fact, in the United States, the number of traditional copies of Minecraft sold on the PC is just 19 percent. Console sales represent 41 percent, just topping the 40 percent of users who have bought the Pocket Edition for mobile and the UWP version of the game."
What you're talking about as far as PC gaming being "better than" Console games is total revenue, which is a skewed perception simply due to thousands of more games releasing on PC than Console, and revenue streams focusing more on cash shop games.
But that doesn't change anything.. as I've explained at length in other threads... if we were counting revenue, Mobile games would top PC... that doesn't somehow mean that they should port Wildstar to Mobile does it? Consoles would actually be a better choice.

CoH was actually a fun and well liked game though
