I think Overwatch is the game that finally replaces Unreal Tournament as the best fps shooter. There is room for some improvements with more interesting objectives, but the base game is excellent with fantastic coop mechanics and versatile classes.
And it is so refreshing to see a game that is not f2p crap, that alone spells top quality to me.

These are of course facts and not at all my opinions :D

I really love the game. It never gets repetitive you just switch your character. Plus there is like 16 maps at launch which is pretty awesome.

Seems balanced, it's polished, artwork is amazing. Check out Battleborn, it's artstyle and characters can't compete.
Now Playing: Bless / Summoners War
Looking forward to: Crowfall / Lost Ark / Black Desert Mobile

I played the beta for 30 minutes and got rid of it. I found it to be such a Zerg fest I could hardly see what was happening on th screen. Everyone was on top of each other - not my kind of thing at all.

I was looking Paladins earlier, looks very similar to Overwatch and it's going to be f2p.

I forsee overwatch being more or less dead in a few months and the people they wanted to rip from TF2 going right on back to it.
I've played both as well, and I have to say that at least Paladins got better gameplay and with the decks/cards you don't have to play same boring skills (i know there isn't such huge difference yet, but at least some) all the time over and over like in Overwatch. But let's face it Blizzard games are designed for primitive mainstream. Just go and compare Hots vs Smite and you will see the difference between skill and casaul wanna be "competitive" games paid by a big company like Blizzard is.

Love the way you call regular people enjoying games on their hard earned free time "primitive mainstream" and "casual wanna be 'competitive'". It's time to leave the basement and get some sun, and most of all, some perspective.

    Not with Blizzard

When they released D3, hype was enormous and it fell short of expectations. So the player population and reviews dipped.

Blizzard didnt let up. They changed the game substantially and remaked it. Until it returned to expected quality.

Thats what they do. Unlike every other company, Blizzard will not stop until its perfect.

Definitely overhyped... the game looks like garbage control points and escorting vehicles which means easymode just bomb the place where the enemy stands durr

Scoperx-x, I ll ask you what I ve asked others with this silly comment, are  or were you drunk when you said this? Dead in 3 months, that too funny.
If it isnt then that is proof that people play Blizzard games regardless of quality.
Or, if it isn't proof that contrary to all the Blizzard hate around here they actually release quality products that people want to play. The anti Blizzard movement is hilarious, accessible being confused with dumbed down, polished with simplified. Blizzard doesn't create new genres, it improves the existing ones to a level few other companies can match elevating said genre as a whole. Other companies try to copy that, all fail miserable and we are screaming how Blizzard ruined that genre.

I tried the beta and it's a fun game to play with a premade group that has teamwork, not so fun queuing with random people since everyone wants to play damage dealers and do their own thing. It's not a fun game to spectate for me at all so I don't see how it will become big in esports but if Hearthstone can make it I guess Overwatch can too.

Players who try to do that tend to complain that Tracer is OP. :p

It's TF2 with fresh paint, it will get old - Blizzard has failed in the innovative area for awhile that really grabs players. They simply have enough capital to back projects and make them "clean" playing and looking. Don't see the big deal about the game after playing beta....

Except that you have a Reinhardt shielding the escorting party while being healed by a Mercy/Lucio. A Widowmaker from far behind it constantly trying to one-shot you while providing a wallhack ultimate for the team. All while you have to deal with a Genji/Tracer harassing your entire team from the flank, which will kill all of you unless you deal with it properly, which means you can't mindlessly bomb the escort.

is it overhyped? yes. is it still a great game worth the price? yes.  I had a lot of fun in the beta, and did not hesitate to purchase the game based on my limited time with it.

the missing link in a chain of destruction.

All spelling and typographical errors are based soely on the fact that i just dont care. If you must point out my lack of atention to detail, please do it with a smile.

It's not for everyone. It needs teamwork, for one thing, which is something that some people find surprisingly hard to manage. I'm finding it fun, but then I had fun on the original Quake 2 CTF and deathmatch maps (yes, there was FPS life before Team Fortress!)

Actually - after playing all week now, I can say the hype was just right. Best game on the market in years. Thank you Blizzard.

Idk what happened to all those people hyping this game, like it is best game ever. It is just silly arena shooter with cartoony fancy visuals.

    As for me I think I was burnout from arena shooters back in UT days ;v;

I don't know about overhyped, as it is a great game, but there are a lot of other games coming out in a similar vein soon that I believe are all more deep and better in general.

Only by critics.  The players are calling it for what really is.  6-8/10
