    I think the rise of this kind of stuff is great for gaming. It allows for games to be made outside of the corporate gaming mill. Anything that promotes creativity is good for gaming. And these Devs have to be creative. Nobody is going to want to buy into something that's already been done.
    Ya, you take the good with the bad. Soon as a few games are successful, I think it will pave the way to more alternatives and real innovation.

    Right now the industry is at an impasse. Everyone put all their eggs in the same design basket, and when it didn't pan out, it caused everyone to question the viability of MMORPGs. Its going to take a few indies being able to turn a profit to give others the confidence to give it another go. Even then, I think we are going to see games targeting particular niches rather than trying to go the mass appeal route.
