Omg...not to say that this is bad, but this IS bad...
EVERY single sentence in the trailer a cliché oozing one-liner incl. all the stereotypical "fighting-dying-standing together" phrases, CGI that looks like CGI, horribly unfitting techno-like music to pump up the kids to the action scenes-this trailer just checks every box it should not.
The Blizzard trailers come along epic, with their music, atmosphere and everything -but this is Warcraft as Hollywood as it gets. Even Uwe Boll's Dungeons and Dragons while being bad was at last honest. This movie is just something pretending to be Warcraft.
I wouldn't recommend anyone to go to the cinema for this. But then with movies like this, it is that usually the special effects and CGI look even cheaper on blueray/HD.
Something almost too big to fail turns out to be a chance missed by lightyears.
Don't know if i should laugh or cry...and i'm not kidding here.
Kyleran: "Now there's the real trick, learning to accept and enjoy a game for what
it offers rather than pass on what might be a great playing experience
because it lacks a few features you prefer."
John Henry Newman: "A man would do nothing if he waited until he could do it so well that no one could find fault."
FreddyNoNose: "A good game needs no defense; a bad game has no defense." "Easily digested content is just as easily forgotten."
LacedOpium: "So the question that begs to be asked is, if you are not interested in
the game mechanics that define the MMORPG genre, then why are you
playing an MMORPG?"
The movie won't do it for the Warcraft fans, won't do it for the lore hounds, not for the fans of solid fantasy like the people that loved Lotro and it won't do it for the mainstream/action cineast.
It looks like they tried to please everyone a little bit and in result fabricated a piece with a heavy identity crisis that will please no one.
If it's fun to watch that's all I care about, the critics hated BvS but I had a blast watching it.
I'd imagine that this film will do the best in China and those regions, the US market is less important than ever before these days.
Keep in mind that wow has attracted 100 million people over the years, that's a big potential audience.
I am hyped. Fuck the naysayers! I have seen worst CGI. It is supposed to be fantasy in the warcraft style, if its too realistic then its another LOTRO. get a grip people!
Whoever is expecting this to be LOTR will be very disappointed. Whoever is expecting this to be GOT will be also very disappointed.
It's not aimed at adults, yet it's story is set in a time where warcraft lore used to be serious. It's CGI is garbage + fighting scenes and voice acting is terrible, which again makes it another weird mix.
It's like they've created an animated movie, while also trying to pull the adults in with the more serious story. This movie has failure writen all over it. That's what happens when your movie is a reflection of what WoW has become.
Everyone knows this is a cheap movie. It's intended to reinvigorate the warcraft name.
That's all it's there for. Do you really think the final cut guys are like "This is a good movie" without you know...bullshit dribbling from their mouths.
We know it's bad.
They know it's bad.
They know the CGI is just simply the worst.
We know it is.
As for the orcs in real life statement.
More like they have no impact on the world they run . The CGI is just that bad. No impact = no joy.
Just look at all these wonderfully popular mmo's without impact in combat...
People love that shit.
The movie itself should be pretty decent, but this trailer isn't showing that. The music seems completely out of place to me, and makes it feel like a joke.
