LOL.  They want a pretty woman who's "comfortable on video" for this unpaid position.  Is this for a game company or for a porno?

Looking for a job? The Lucimia team happens to be seeking an unpaid community manager and social media manager. The hiring post says the company will consider all applicants but prefers a “photogenic” woman who’s comfortable on video. Lucimia says it hopes to expand the role of women on its team and in its community but warns applicants that the “easily offended” needn’t apply as the work environment and internal humor are NSFW.

Do these jokers even realize how bad such a posting is?   It's not just the "photogenic woman" requirement but the whole frat-house not easily offended part.  I love the whole way they try and gloss over it by saying they are doing this to diversify their workforce.  LOL.  Talk about tone deaf!

I hate SJW mentality, there is nothing wrong with that post at all.  You're just looking to be offended.

If you own a store you don't want some fat ugly chick on the front desk, her appearance makes your company look bad.  If you have a community manager then she will be on videos and other material.  As such how she looks matters, people judge others based on appearance whether you like it or not.

They aren't demanding or forcing someone to take the job, they are asking for a volunteer and asking for specifications they want.  They are allowed to do that and there is nothing wrong with it.

Go be outraged about tracers ass or something.
Do you live in a cave or something?
Do you live in your handbag?
Handbag?? Are you 12? Stay in school kid. You might learn something.
Go back to school and learn some sentence structure.
Please, tell me which part is wrong?

Being a small business owner myself, I would not give a red cent for the longevity of this company.  There is a reason Frat houses only exist on or near college campuses.

This is an extreme example of unprofessional and a major issue within the MMORPG development community I suspect.

    Pretty disgusting really.

If you want a new idea, go read an old book.

In order to be insulted, I must first value your opinion.

I'd rather take honest posting like this than the normal PR hope we don't offend anyone corporate speak politically correct nonsense. I'm not saying i agree with the content of message however.

"We're looking for an attractive female to help us gain followers in social media and twitch". There. Done. If you're offended then go be offended somewhere else.

I wonder if they know they can be sued if someone, who seemingly was on board with their "internal humor" decides that they are no longer "on board".

Not sure where they are located so I imagine local laws could be different but I get the feeling that they are a "lawsuit waiting to happen".

Are these the same guys who did the promo video where they basically slagged off the woman from the Clash of Clans advert?  If so, not only are they stupid, but hypocritical too.

Ignore the above, they were not, my bad.

I was interested in this game, but some of what I have seen and read lately has my interest fading.

The amount of people on this forum that can't comprehend the over arching issue here is laughable.  You really think this boils down to being over sensitive?  Man, the ignorance is just thick in here tonight.

Personally I do think it is being oversensitive.

First, the OP was a selective quote.
Second, the job is to work in front of a camera so it is a reasonable thing to have on your tick list.
Third, it is unpaid so really it is being targeted at someone who would get something from the position other then job security or cash. Like great experience, exposure, enjoying the process etc...
Fourth, "everyone has the right to be offended but so fucking what". A great quote I personally love.

Ok cool so if you are down with that (I don't get offended btw, but I understand the issue here) it's cool to start using racial slurs then?  If it's cool to start here, where does it end?

Personally I find their "we want to keep being a frat house" attitude more of a concern than the advert for a non- paid position, because when they tank on their loans or however they got money, it's my tax dollars that will go to pay for their indiscretion, because contrary to popular belief, nothing is free.

SO the fact that they can be terrible at business, can objectify females, and advertise we want to be irresponsible, you are good with that.  Cool.

Seriously dude, I have seen quite a few of your posts, you are a hell of a lot smarter than that, I find it hard to believe that you honestly think this is a case of being 'over sensitive'.

Edit:  Before this turns into a back and forth, I really am not that invested in this topic, I have posted more than I should have already, and at the end of the day lets face it, companies like this have a way of self destructing before they get around to doing any real harm.

If you want a new idea, go read an old book.

hmmmm, I don't think any of that matters.

I don't know where these guys are. And maybe their organization spans across the country or the globe. Dont' know.

But there are laws, whether one likes it or not, that not only cover employees for discrimination or hostile work environments but have also, depending on where you are, been extended for unpaid interns or essentially people who work for you and who aren't getting a pay check.

And it gets more mired up in gunk because one can claim hostile work environment even if they seem "on board" with any and all behavior.

So for example, this person gets "hired" and seems cool with the environment. Then suddenly one day they complain that "things went too far". They then complain to the management. If management doesn't take steps to correct whatever it was they can then possibly be sued.

There are a lot of factors involved. In this case it "might" not be pertinent as they might not have 15 or more "employees" and it also depends on the nature of their organization. Are they actually a company or just some people getting together to do this project?

In truth? If I was the head of this "company"/organization I would be very clear on the local laws before I started posting "must be cool and not easily offended".

Again, doesn't matter if one likes it or not, one agrees or disagrees, it's more a matter of local laws or whatever laws their organization falls under.

    5. Appearance
Very few states or municipalities have prohibitions against appearance discrimination, and there are no federal laws against it. Sometimes, women are subjected to appearance standards when men are not (or vice versa) and that would probably be illegal discrimination. But hating someone because they're beautiful? Probably legal.

In truth, if you actually knew how many of your favorite artists/actors/entertainers, etc were probably not people you would normally like in "real life" you might be surprised.

I try to divorce the work from the artists as there is a lot of great work out there made by huge jerks.

    From that posting:

"It’s roughly 2-4 hours a day worth of work. Sometimes it might be more than that when we’re doing vodcasts and videos and we need to do pre and post work. It’s a seven-days-a-week 365-days-a-year role."

    and then...

"None of us are receiving financial compensation until 2018. However, we will cover travel expenses for official event attendance for team members, and we’ve got some other perks that go along with being part of a game company, such as free hardware and software as a result of partnerships."

Where can I sign up?!?!?!  O.o

Are we surprised at anything developers are doing now a days?
Look at some of those past WOw commercials or that really cheap browser game that paid a model 20 million to advert the game.
Devs asking for free handouts, paying websites to give them favorable promoting,it all comes down to the fact that developers considering the consumer to be a complete idiot.

Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.
