Only getting emails for Daily Digest

So I checked the box to be notified about contests but the only emails I ever get are the Daily Digest. Would really be nice to get emails notifying me when new contests are out and when there are beta key giveaways. And why do I get the Daily Digest emails so late, like 12am EST even though these posts were made about 24 hours earlier or so.
And no emails are going into my spam or junk folders before you may suggest this. :P
