Bill just gained my respect. So you think everyone should have freedom to speak their mind but because its his website he shouldn't? I can criticize mmorpg.com for every little thing they do yet somehow demand that they respect me. Yea that's not how it works in the real world.
Yes the BASIC design of multiclasses is nice but it just proves why Themepark are such a bad design,it gets incredibly boring running back n forth to the same npc's a hundred times. Before you even start the second go around you know how much running around it is and becomes painful to think about it.
Killing stuff for your xp on the other hand SHOULD have multiple targets at every level, player gets bored they can move to a different target. However SOoooo many keep taking about great combat, well you NEED good npc targets and great AI to be calling anything great combat.
Just litle things like ONE type of proximity aggro ruins immersion for me,developers are just so cheap and lazy when comes to building a complete game with decent immersion and plausible realism, everything just looks like random computer code tossed into a world.
Never forget 3 mile Island and never trust a government official or company spokesman.

It's too soon to tell how people will stay with BDO, but the former 3 have a lot of staying power, just as games before their generation did.
This says it all really. I actually read the article, and i agree with most of it. I finally tried B&S the other day, and only lasted an hour, before i logged out. The game is just 'meh'. It's even worse than Tera, if that were possible. The two are very similar. Hoping Black Desert is somewhat better.

lol - your feelings mislead you
no offense - and it is good to have feelings. The only commonality really is that they are both fantasy fiction - saying that from a bird's eye view perspective. Looking closer there the normal commonalities - how they work tho
@GeezerGamer I didn't see a queue last night and the past few nights its been 10 minutes max for waiting. Now is a good time to jump in and check it out. I like it for the different style action/combo combat and simple upgrade system.
@Thourne sorry man its just not for everyone. Good luck finding what entertains you.
@Daar BDO might have some similiarities but I didn't notice them. The action combat of BDO is quasi-action. You attack and your character stops moving and goes through this animation. B&S when you attack your character doesn't stop moving. Honestly I think they are completely different mmorpgs.

Thanks, I'll need it. I am more of a virtual world type MMORPGer so atm kinda screwed. but thanks.
I downloaded the game after they added more servers. Creating a character was great but I realized that making a giant character didn't really scale well with the camera. Anyway, I realized that this game is lower on the list of MMO's I want to try and I uninstalled after about 10 minutes. I have watched streamers and realzied this isn't really for me at the moment.
Say what? keep telling yourself that you are doing merit worthy reviews. The guy was spot on calling you out. All of your reviews are actually the same, they literally touch on nothing but the very surface because you are actually not a gamer and don't actually play the games. So you have no clue what the games truly measures up. Before you little legion of fan boys comes piling in or you attempt to defend yourself, lets be clear it takes a whopping 4-5 hours tops to reach level 25. The best part is how you try to fluff that your play time without actually expressing it as you spread it out over a "week and a half of playing the game".
People like you keep going on about these other things to do in mmo's like what crafting? Are you really going to tell me with a straight face that running around standing on nodes and pressing a button to pick up rocks and roots etc... for hours is "deep gameplay" or that standing at "anvil" building 4000 widgets is deep gameplay? crafting is am awful excuse for gameplay and add nothing to 99% of the player base who will never really craft and the 1% that do it care not for the crafting they only care for the "money" they make from crafting.
Played All of the MMO's you list they offer nothing mroe than blade and soul, I run around killing stuff questing and killing stuff. It is exactly the same but less "linear" which factually only creates the illusion of somehow doing something different lol.
Again not defending blade and soul but to suggest it is somehow any shallower than any other mmo created is a pretty big stretch it is the same shit with better combat. Depth in an MMO come from character development ,rich stats, and itemization allowing for strategic planning on how you will play through content, not being able to sit at a crafting station making the same 4000 widgets to level up and do it over, nor to sit in some virtual house placing pictures on the wall, nor running around humping resource nodes.
But I digress the point is your reviews are dogshit and have been for a long time now. They are shallow and offer next to zero insight to anyone seriously looking to play an MMO, you pound out the same trivial details because that is all you can glean from the meager few hours of initial leveling you devote to "reviewing". You want to talk about wanting to kill yourself trying to level up another character? TRY DOING IT IN YOUR BELOVED ESO if you want to talk about wanting to gouge your eyes out.... wait you havent even leveled one character to max in ESO so you have no clue what you are talking about.
People on here are such haters. I got 2 max level chars and loving it. The game starts at 45, people trying it out or not even trying it hating on it, just continue. I bet people that enjoy the game could care less.
I look at games like ESO, FFXIV, GW2, and the forthcoming BDO, and I see games that offer a lot more to do than kill and quest until you level cap, then quit. It's too soon to tell how people will stay with BDO, but the former 3 have a lot of staying power, just as games before their generation did.

It's even worse than Tera, if that were possible. The two are very similar. Hoping Black Desert is somewhat better.
Say what? I played all 3 to and beyond max level. this is what I did. in all 3....get ready for it...... wait.... wait.....wait...... I killed stuff, I quested and I KILLED STUFF, and I QUESTED, then occasionally i felt like I was FORCED to pretend to partake in mind numbing tedious "crafting" tasks that amounted to nothing because you really have to devote a lifetime to these tedious tasks for them to manifest any real benifit and I would rather just play the game than sit in town pressing the same couple buttons over and over.
Once i reached level cap wait for it.... wait for it.....wait.... I went out to "end game dungeons" and killed the same stuff over and over in the same handful of dungeons.....that is it the biggening and the end, the entire way handheld and shackled by having to progress through the prescripted "zones" in order getting the prescripted trivial item upgrades "hey dude grats you got a new sword it does .001% more dmg than your last one, and 5 quests from now you will get another!"
Gw2 was slightly different but not much I had some more choices in the order of areas i goto level up in, and there really is no end game dungeons or even items to collect, it is more so a spattering to "mini gaaes" which all got old fast thanks to bland combat mechanics and non existence character development. Oh hey fun stuff i have spent 4 hours doing the world boss rotation for the 30th time and now i have all of the trash loot they drop broken down to have 11% of the crafting material needed to make a legendary which actually is only a visual effect and is no better than my ascended gear.....next i will run my way through the fractals oh dam these seem cool....wait they are all the same 12 tiles sets just randomly put together....this is boring too and still has no rewards either....
So GW2 gets the node not for being better but for simply having alot more choices of end game content but loses all the points because participating in said end game content is meaningless since it offers zero rewards.

What exactly can you do beside Kill and Quest in ESO and FF14 to reach level cap?
Can I craft my way to level cap? can I PvP my way to level cap? (you can PvP your way to cap in BnS fwi.)

I dunno...try actually playing them. You'll see then. Far different than just saying "I quested, crafted, killed stuff...just like all other mmos>" Cause that's like saying "I ate food, slept, and worked today". Yep...it's all in an MMO, but ESO, GW2, and FF14 does it better.

Play it for a couple weeks get bored then quit until next big patch comes. Then come back play for abit then rinse & repeat......
I don't see it changing with any game on the horizon....... I guess if I get my moneys worth outta the game I should be happy....

ohh and its also grindy and boring.
Pick your poison.
Nothing about the game ever grabbed me or held my attention.

So, what are the queues at right now?
Depends on the time of day. I think at peak its like 1+ hours on Jiwan, for non premium. 5 to 10 minutes for premium
Forget about Mushin, thats like foerver queue times.
The game was OK for me. Not enough MMO to keep me playing after I hit cap. The crafting is awful.
Waiting on Black Desert to see if that will keep me goin for more than a week.
