Lineage 2 Classic (Innova/4game) is a GEM

Yes. Absolutely yes! This is the game I missed in the past. But for now I'm duoing with my Orc Mystic (Warcryer) and Orc Fighter (Tyrant). This game is a trip back to the old school.

Some initial experiences in the first couple of days in game:

Moving from place A to place B is slow. I know we have teleports but it's not free so people prefer to walk instead. Leveling is slow and money is scarce. You can be attacked almost everywhere by other players except in towns i think.

I was moving from starter village to an area where to kill some quest mobs and on my travels I noticed some gear laying on the ground. I decided to check them out and wow they were better than my characters were wearing on that time. I looted them and equipped all immediately. I managed to continue my travels only a few meters when I saw some guy running towards me and shouted: "Hey friend! Did you see my items by any chance?" I was like I didn't know what he was talking about and we continued our travels happily =) Maybe that guy was killed by a monster and he dropped something from his inventory or he left them on the ground for his alt on the same account who knows but it was hilarious nonetheless.

Orc lvl 10 weapon quest "back to da old school camping"  O.o fortunately that npc had a 5min respawn but always 10-20 players camping him so had to make a macro for targeting and attacking the npc and pray for the quest item lol. That was painful but as the situation was like it was people started to chat with each others and friendships were created and partying and joking etc. etc.  :)

Couple of guys tried to PK me while I was grinding and third guy nearby came to help me and we killed both aggressors together and chatted for awhile after that.

All I have to say is I will be playing this gem as long as we have enough players on the server. I recommend this game for all of you who were playing games like this and who are still looking for an experience like it was back in the day. I'm an ex-EVE and Anarchy Online player and I'm enjoying every second I'm playing this game.

It costs only a 10€ per month. The graphics still look good if you like the style. And no cash shops!

I'm having a great time too. Really too bad NCWest had Innova IP block NA players though, would've been great to have them around.

I played for about 3 months when it released and was nothing special.
No cash shops, well that is a definite plus.

I played L2 for like 3 years.  Good times.

You forgot to mention that there's a 7day headstart for founders, and you can't play now even if you wanted to until the 7 days is over.

Yes I'm sorry for that. I have been so excited about this game :)  People who didn't preorder the game can start playing on 29th december.

All the starter zones are bristling with activity, plenty of people to hunt with, loads of shops (selling crap that drops anyway, lol) I rolled three toons (mad?) and haven't stopped playing the last couple of days. It like its 2005 or something all over again, will it last or will the grind wear me so thin I'll never want to hear the sound of soulshots again.

Having a blast with some players from Teon/Naia that I kept in contact with over the years! I'm so glad that on the last moment I DID decide to pre-order anyway :D

Uhm... Only the website is blocked for non EU IP's. In-game there's no check and I heard that with some Chrome plugin you can register and play on the server. Only bad thing, when you have problems logging on for some reason, Innova won't give you support...

Well if it makes $, they just might open a NA server.  Unless they think we are just a bunch of jerks.  Which we are.

I downloaded the stream version and was unplayable the most laggy game I ever seen and considering the outdated graphics makes no sense I play ffxiv on highest setting.

It does make sense considering the engine is old. If you have a SSD it helps.

I had the same problem with regular Lineage 2. I was told that it's less graphic card intensive and more processor intensife (don't know if that's true or not) and that having an SSD hard drive helps.

Still, I wish they would make a US classic version.

A US version would be cool except for NCWest running it. EU version is fine though. I think I ping like 100ish. Very playable.

I don't think it's open to residents of the US.

Yeah, if you're a Chrome user, grab Zenmate and it'll work. I'm glad I tried it, but the original L2 has not aged well. Worth a trip down memory lane tho I suppose.

Just started a char. If anyone wants to party. Msg me.
  • BK2O1BK2O1 Member UncommonPosts: 91
Still having a blast! People everywhere, grouping. It's the most fun I've had in L2 since release.

I hope more people join and support this version. Totally worth it.

There are some bots. Most get the banhammer. Innova > Ncwest any day of the week bro. Classic is mad fun.
