From what I've seen (second hand) of Black Desert, it has some similar elements, but promises B2P which should help stem a lot of those botting issues.
I don't see any reason why that would stop botting? Unless you are insinuating that people will be afraid to bot because they have paid money?

However, there was botting in Lineage 2 and that was not only a game you had to buy but you also had to pay the sub. So it really isn't a deterrent.

That applies to ArcheAge too. You are forced to subscribe if you want to own a house. Keep in mind that generic games (plural) rely on quality of life features to be a bit more enjoyable. So that bullet point definitelly applies to AA too. I havent played BD beta so i dont know about it.

I guess my relating that to what happened in AA is because you had a ton of Asian botters/farmers doing so because the game was free.  And if they DID get banned, they could just create a new account because there was no securty (even basic IP bans).  It doesn't stop it completely though, especially if it's western people doing it who aren't concerned with losing out on the money they spent for the game.

     - solo automated crafting via instanced housing

Just to reiterate for those who don't get the wrong idea, the housing in Black Desert is one of the best I've ever seen.  The houses that exist in game -- even in cities -- are available for purchase.  It's the inside of them that are phased, meaning that anyone can buy any house at any time without worry about bots or someone else taking it up.  In addition to there not being a house every five feet like it was back in Ultima Online.

When it comes to PvE, they're supposed to be adding dungeons from what I've read.  Though I highly doubt the PvE will be all that good at end game since it seems to be an afterthought or localization thing they're doing what with the complaints of no PvE content at the end.

Due to frequent travel in my youth, English isn't something I consider my primary language (and thus I obtained quirky ways of writing).  German and French were always easier for me despite my family being U.S. citizens for over a century.  Spanish I learned as a requirement in school, Japanese and Korean I acquired for my youthful desire of anime and gaming (and also work now).  I only debate in English to help me work with it (and limit things).  In addition, I'm not smart enough to remain fluent in everything and typically need exposure to get in the groove of things again if I haven't heard it in a while.  If you understand Mandarin, I know a little, but it has actually been a challenge and could use some help.

Also, I thoroughly enjoy debates and have accounts on over a dozen sites for this.  If you wish to engage in such, please put effort in a post and provide sources -- I will then do the same with what I already wrote (if I didn't) as well as with my responses to your own.  Expanding my information on a subject makes my stance either change or strengthen the next time I speak of it or write a thesis.  Allow me to thank you sincerely for your time.

I would love it if they blatently stole the thunderstruck tree idea or a facsimile therof, that honestly was some of the most fun ive had gaming since UO....I enjoyed the boating and fishing in AA as well....so hopefully I can find some similar content in BDO

It does not use Gameguard it uses XIGNCODE3 in KR. Regarding crafting, you earn your gear via mob grinding to both get the gear and the stones to enchant it. It's much better than ArcheAge and vigor hasn't been an issue for the crafting I have done so far. It's done pretty well in KR.

the problematic word is GRINDING ;(
    no thx, I pass.
I'd have to agree with this, from the reviews I've seen on youtube. They all say the same thing, the game gets very grindy in the later stages.

I always wonder at the many individuals who absolutely detest all these MMOs and call them all complete garbage. Makes me wonder what their idea of a good mmo actually is. It just seems with the degree of contempt they seem to have towards these titles, why even bother coming into those game forums? Is it merely the need to breed negativity? dunno...just seems strange

Ah I see, I suppose that makes sense. Though I imagine that gold farmers will take the loss and still buy accounts. Or maybe try to get hold of players' accounts.

If I was running a gold farming business (which I wouldn't) I would figure out on average how long an account can run and how much gold can be gathered before it was banned and another account would have to be purchased. I would then raise the gold price accordingly so that over the average time the account is active it makes enough money to purchase the next account.

It's cute that you think that gold farmers actually use their own money to buy accounts. :chuffed:
